Best

Cheese pizza has been perfected here. Amazing taste, cornmeal crusted pizza for a crunchy crust, the cheese and tomato sauce or delicious. Sausage and pepper pizza is also amazin...

Worst

It's good pizza only because the restaurant is in Boston and not New York. New York has the edge on us, not in baseball but in pizza. But, unless you're going to take the 4 hour...

#1 Pizza 9/24/2002

Simply the best pizza there is. Everytime I'm hungry for pizza I make the drive. It's worth it. If there's a line... wait. Service is friendly and quick. If you have a date you want to impress with your knowledge of the cool little places to eat, bring her here. This is the best pizza in town. Pros: Best Pizza Ever, Take a date, Price Cons: The Line, if at all more

luscious 9/9/2002

Pleasant smells, assult your senses, upon entering this appealing resturant, to say nothing of the delicious tastes awaiting your pleasure... Pros: good food, fine wine Cons: No Parking, always crowded, Noisy, real loud more

What and it ain't??? 8/30/2002

The best pizza in the city. Plus the place is a barrel of laughs between the gritty wait staff and the people who go to a pizza joint and do not actually know what they want. I have been going there for many years and I have a blast every time. Get there, wait if you have to, order plenty and have a good time. Pros: the pizza, the lamb, the peppers Cons: don't take coupons, don't take checks, don't take c-cards more

THE BEST EVER 8/28/2002

THis pizza is yummy, and I dream about going there. I could eat their pizza everyday. It is better to take it out, then eat in the restaurant. All my out of town guests agree that this pizza is the best. more

Great Crust 8/13/2002

Love the atmoshere at this Easty institution. The garlic pizza is to die for. Wonderful crust, the sauce is just right just enough cheese and lots of garlic. more

Mmmmmm 8/13/2002

Thin crust pizza at its best. The tastiest sauce, and just the right amount of cheese. There's not an ingredient that isn't just right. more

simply the best 8/13/2002

I drive over 40 miles to have a pizza at Santarpio's. I have worked and lived in Boston for over 30 years. Nothing tops a Sausage Pizza from Santarpio's more

The Best Pizza in Town 8/13/2002

Santarpio's has the best pizza in town, by far. It's not the most elegant of restaurants but, if you just want to sit back, relax and have some great pizza and a couple of beers, this is the place for you. The prices are very reasonable and the service is pretty good as well. The only criticisms I have is that parking can be difficult and there is no waiting area so if there is a line, which there almost always is, you have to wait outside, which in bad weather is a problem. I would certainly recommend it to anyone who is a pizza lover. Pros: Great pizza, Inexpensive Cons: Parking is difficult, No waiting area more

Absolute BEST PIZZA 8/13/2002

I have lived in many places and have traveled to far off places and no one but no one has pizza like SANTARPIO'S. I have this pizza at least once a week it's that good, you get fresh veggies and meat and if you want garlic they give you a ton!!! if you ask for a pizza well done it's never burnt and the susage with peperchinies are to die for. I bet you will not find a better pizza!!!! :) more

Yummy Hole in the Wall 8/5/2002

Yes, it's a hole in the wall, but it serves up great pizza. Not much more to add. more

Hot stuff 7/30/2002

Given its rustic ambiance, I just love Santarpios food. There are only a few things on the menu...Pizza, Lamb tips, Sausages, bread and peppers. I just love to eat a mixture of them all at the same time! The crust is the best and the pizza is not overburden with lots of cheese. It's just right! Pros: taste, bread and peppers, inexpensive Cons: parking, lines more

9 7/30/2002

It's kind of a dive but it's the best pizza I've ever had!! If you don't mind the waitress/waiters yelling back and forth then you'll love it. Pros: PIZZA Cons: sometimes rude servic more

Best Pizza in Boston 7/29/2002

If you want the best pizza in Boston, great atmosphere, no frills and no b.s. dining -- this is the place to go. Pros: excellent pizza, fun, no frills, Cons: parking`, there is short wait more

Great Dive Pizza Joint 7/26/2002

Before venturing to Santarpio's you should know that it's not in the top 5 because of the atmosphere! Incredible pizza and authentic East Boston ambiance! Definitely worth the trip and experience. Pros: inexpensive, juke box, great food Cons: it's a dive, which isn't necessari, ly a bad thing! more

Family place 7/18/2002

I've been going here for over 50 years. Every trip from California brought me back to Santarpios for pizza. I now live in New Hampshire and still travel down for pizza and bbq regularly. great value and I have never seen any trouble while there. Trua authentic pizza. I remember the old waiters that have passed on, Angelo and Tom. They added great character to this place. Pros: best pizza, great bbq Cons: parking more

Hey Vinny! 7/18/2002

Hands down Boston's best pizza. Enter a world were everyone is a Bostonian with thick BASTAN accents. Located in the heart of East Boston...even if your not Italian you'll feel like one. Great classic Sanatra setting. Listen closely and you might even hear him playing in the background. Pros: very Boston, inexpensive, croweded Cons: hard to park more

old school 6/30/2002

this is definitely old school italian neighborhood atmosphere. the pizza is good but not really my style (thin and crunchy). best bet is the hot pepper pizza. i love the fact that they offer the lamb but if you want good lamb tips go to the new bridge cafe in chelsea. overall santarpio's is a place you have to go to at least once in your life. more

where are you Tony Soprano? 6/6/2002

Great Pizza. Have some BBQ lamb and sausage too. Parking is a problem but make the trip and have two or three kinds of pizza. Take at least six people so you can try a few pizzas. This is a neighborhood pizza joint and bar. nothing more. Long tradition of great pizza. Nothing else on the menu except BBQ lamb and sausage cooked right at the bar. Pros: pizza Cons: parking more

Lefty makes this place right 5/19/2002

I grew up with Santarpio's pizza and it has forever been my most favorite pizza of all time, not to mention the unbelievable barbecue. They make their own sausage and the lamb is some of the best around. Lefty (yes, that's his name) has been there since I can remember and is usually working behind the bar sparking up the ""barby."" It's affordable and worth the line that forms on the weekends. The fact that none of the plates or silverware matches simply adds to its charm. This is the neighborhood ""hole in the wall"" you're always looking for. They have a take out window in the back, but call ahead. more
