Santa Ynez Valley Coffee

This is one of the most amazing coffee shops around. The staff is the friendliest in the valley. While there are other shops this one is hands down the best. It has the greatest selection of beverages, teas and fresh and aromatic coffees. The fountain soda machine is a true treasure and not common these days in coffee houses or even other eateries. The expert staff both in the front serving a wide selection of drinks (including my favorite Ice Blended Mocha) and in the back (who cook everything from sandwiches, to paninis to salads and other goodies) are welcoming and truly brilliant. The servers always are quick and serve with a smile and make you feel at home. THE BEST IN THE VALLEY! And heck, better than any coffee house I have gone to in all my travels. Pros: Everything! I have been a patron of the Santa Ynez Valley Coffee Co. since it first open and I can state without exception that their friendly Staff are the best educated in all aspects of the coffee and restaurant service. They are both friendly and efficient when getting your coffee, smoothie, pastry, sandwich, salad or soup. They have done their homework when it comes to making ALL Valley residents and visitors feel at home and welcome. more

I disagree with the first review I have frequented this business since its opening and as a traveller I find their coffee shop to be one of the best I have ever been to. The servers are always so attentive and friendly. The food is amazing and the quality of the coffee is world class!!! I also think the fact they even have a soda fountain is impressive because I rarely see them at other coffee shops. I think that these things along with the exceptional cleanliness and welcoming surroundings make this coffee house a must visit for locals and tourists alike! more

this place is incredible!!! the coffee is absolutely out of this world! i cant wait each morning to get my cup of cowboy blend and one of the delicious bakery items. being able to sit and enjoy this in truly warm welcoming surroundings is the highlight of my day. the staff are always on top of every detail and i also enjoy taking clients and friends to lunch because of the vast choices of prepared food and the great service provided. having been to every coffee house in the valley i think this one ranks high above the others. more

after finding the syv coffee company while visiting my favorite wine destination, i have been raving about this place ever since! living in the bay area i am used to good coffee houses but this one is exceptional!!! the service is always so friendly and prompt, the coffee always tasty and the food scrumptious! there are always interesting and fun new specials to try. their regular drip coffee is so good that i have been having it shipped to the bay area since my first visit! valley blend is my absolute FAVORITE!!!!! now i look forward to the syv coffee company more than i do my favorite santa ynez wineries! I love this coffee house. I am always greated with a smile and hello. The ambiance is homey and welcoming. The staff is very efficient and the drinks are always made to perfection. The menu is fun and different. Can't find many restaurants that will serve my sandwhich on squaw bread! The outside seating is an added bonus on a beautiful summer day. more

These days, coffee houses are ubiquitous on every major thoroughfare. What distinguishes the exceptional from the mundane (and inferior) are quality of service, speed of order fulfillment, price, and inventory variety. This coffee house rates a ""B"" for variety, but gets ""F's"" for service and order fulfillment. We've frequented SYV Coffee numerous times over the past two years. During slow times, one can get fairly responsive service at the counter. But because SYV Coffee is sometimes understaffed, and its young servers inattentive and disorganized, during busier times one can wait endlessly for one's order -- even if one requests takeout. Twice we've had to request refunds because the drinks never were made. Once we watched a server, lost in his own world of thoughts, chatting on a cell phone and idly tallying up inventory sales, even though a line of customers had formed. Also, due to bad seating design at SYV Coffee, one has to squeeze behind a long table to get to the fountain drinks.
