Looked at seven other tree places before buying my tree at SantaFe Landscaping. Some places were the equivalent of tree “puppy mills”- a lot of varieties, but not a lot of attention to the ones that were there. (Numerous trees blown over, soil spilling out not propped up.) And many place have become “big box” tree stores that have trees, but no employees to answer questions. (At two places I wandered around for a half hour - clearly interested- but… they had only one employee in charge of them, and he was always Somewhere Else.) So I found Santa Fe, a family-owned business that probably had less variety, but all they did have were compatible with this climate. And they volunteered information that was helpful for me in deciding what kind of tree to buy: differences in hybrids and what kind of soil they were planted in, etc. It was clear they actually care about trees, which is just as important to me as the kind I bought.\r
