Brooklyn’s, New York Sankofa Aban B & B is a perfect place to stay if you are not looking for a standard NYC hotel. The 1880 restored brownstone is beautiful. The B&B hosts are friendly. You are made very welcome right from start. The inn is quiet. The atmosphere is relaxed, interesting, intimate and personal. \r

The Brooklyn, New York Sankofa Aban B&B is within walking distance to the metro or public transportation (subway and bus). It takes approx. 20 min to go to Mid-Manhattan, but it's definitely worth the money saved in staying in Brooklyn, New York. I believe there are so many other things that you can spend your money on in NYC besides expensive nightly hotel lodging accommodations.\r

Brooklyn’s New York Sankofa Aban B&B offers six private guest rooms. Upstairs on the parlor floor is the inn’s event space for private weddings ceremonies, receptions and private parties.\r

Upstairs on the third and fourth floors are (three queen private enormous bedrooms rooms with ceilings fans and a shared full bath with shower bathroom on each floor).\r

On the ground inn’s floor is the dinning area, guest lounge and kitchen facilities. You have access to the guest refrigerator for water, ice tea and other beverages. There is a garden to sit in to enjoy the fresh air and sun or relax after an exciting day of Manhattan sight seeing. The property is smoke free.\r

Warmth, comfort, cleanliness, quietness and location are important to me when I travel. Brooklyn’s New York Sankofa Aban B&B is more like being at home rather then in a hotel. I had engaging, enjoyable and very interesting conversations with the hosts and the Sankofa B&B inn’s guests. The hosts are attentive without being intrusive.\r

I highly recommend the Sankofa Aban B&B to anyone who wants an interesting alternative to NYC expensive hotel lodging accommodations. Whether you reserve a guest room, or the whole B&B townhouse, there is no better way to ensure a comfortable and reasonably-priced holiday, business trip or family or friends get-together.\r

FYI: Parking can be a bit of a challenge later in the evening and it's imperative to be aware of the street signs alerting to days of the week for alternate side parking times. This, of course, is true all over Brooklyn and Manhattan.\r

I recommend this B&B inn for leisure travel, get-away weekend, visiting family and friends, solo traveler, spouse, partner, significant other, business colleagues or first time in New York City travel.\r

I do not recommend this B&B inn for people who have breathing or ambulatory health challenges because of the flight of stairs from the ground entry floor to the upstairs third and fourth floor rooms or people with disabilities. The B&B is not wheel chair accessible.\r
