My friends and I had dined at the adjoining Timbers Restaurant and Fish Market the previous evening and had enjoyed it, so we decided to try The Grill as we are big sports fans and wanted to watch the Sox and Yankee games. This is the definition of a great sports bar. Authentic memorabilia including hundreds of photos with the owner posing with sports notables and celebrities that he has met over the years. \r
We shared a couple of appetizers, the buffalo shrimp with sweet chili sauce and the buffalo chicken lips with hot sauce. Both dishes were lightly breaded, not overcooked and extremely delicious. The chicken lips are really strips of breast meat, not frozen chicken fingers, but real big pieces of real chicken. The buffalo sauce was hot, and it was served with a creamy blue cheese dressing which helped to cool it down. We had asked for ranch dressing as well and that was yummy too! The shrimp were tossed in a sweet chili sauce which everyone loved. I would order this for dinner next time! Being a big burger fan, I ordered the bacon cheeseburger cooked rare. When it came out, it was just as I had pictured it, over an inch thick, topped with crisp bacon and melted swiss cheese. I cut it half immediately to check on it doneness and it was perfect, bright pink with a little red in the center, the juices running down the plate into the big mound of french fries that came with it. One friend ordered the Beth's salad, a mix of greens topped with tomatoes, nuts, raisins, blue cheese and vinaigrette dressing. A wonderful combination of flavors and a portion enough that we took some home with us. My other friend had the crunchy shrimp and grouper combination. Crispy on the outside, moist on the inside and served with fries and great obviously fresh made cole slaw. Bass Ale on tap along a nice selection of bottled beers kept us from getting thirsty while we watched both the Sox-Twins and The Yankees - Rays. Yes, they get all the games!
Pros: All sports bars should have food this good!
