In all fairness this review is for the Draper Kindercare (the address was not listed). I feel so strongly about this review that it had to be posted so my apologies to the Sandy site. I visited this center with my baby girl for two hours just days before we were going to enroll her. I have never been so saddened by the lack of nurturing. It was the worst I have seen at any of the facilities that we visited. \r
When I visted the center there were two people staffing the room. When I came in all the babies were screaming their heads off. Not one child was being held. They were all in a swing or exersaucer. This was common throughout my visit. The worst case was a 6-8 week old infant boy. He was obviously hungry and needed to be held (too young to be propped in a swing which he was almost the entire time of my two hour visit). Because his mother left instructions that he eat only every 4 hours, they refused to feed him until three pm - 2 HOURS from the time I got there and he was screaming. He cried the entire time. It broke my heart. But all the babies did - they would only feed them one at a time. It was awful. \r
I saw several risky behaviors as well. One infant who had a fever (teething) was dressed very warmly and they put her on her STOMACH to sleep in her crib with this thick blanket. I mentioned that she seemed too sweaty and they said she was fine. Again, the tiny boy they propped up in a swing with a thick blanket covering his mouth and nose. The daycare worker shoved a binky at his face (missing his mouth) and left. I uncovered his mouth and nose, place the binky in and left. \r
Not one time did anyone speak caringly to one of the babies. No one picked up a crying baby to be soothed. The staff seemed unbelievably frazzled (lots of extra duties - bus driver, story time to other classes etc). I couldn't in good faith leave my daughter some where knowing only her physical needs would be met and none of her emotional needs.
Pros: Clean, well lit, no shoes in infant room, secure access to infant room
Cons: Uncaring staff, unsafe sleep practices, NO NURTURING AT ALL
