Sandpiper Beacon Beach Resort

Had a great stay!\r \r We came her with a group of couple friends - none of us have kids. \r \r We could tell the place is very family oriented, with kids games and activities happening throughout the day. This was great because it kept them all entertained, and gave us a bunch of space to hang out and enjoy ourselves too. \r \r There were 3 pools, and the lazy river inside was cool. Luckilly they give you inner tubes because none of us brought our own. \r \r There's a small arcade room with some games in, an ice cream shop, a gift shop, a deli on the beach (which was awesome - the rip tide sandwich was a hit) and a restaurant across the road which we didn't try.\r \r We hung out by the pools or on the beach mostly, and it was all clean, and there were resort staff around the whole time - they do check your armband to make sure you're a guest there. It was a bit annoying at first, but they were nice enough about it - plus you get to know a few staff members after a while - and they seem nice enough. \r \r The main thing is the rooms were clean. The place is definitely older, and you can tell - but it's well maintained, and they seem to stay on top of upgrades and picking up trash all the time. \r \r I'd definitely go back with kids, it's obviously aimed more at families than groups of thirtysomehtings like us - but we still had fun, and would recommend the place. more

OUR FAMILY ENJOYED SO MANY ACTIVITIES AT THE RESORT. OUR BOYS ENJOYED THE FACE PAINTING, BALLOON ART AND MAGIC SHOW. WATCHING A MOVIE WHILE SWIMMING. DURING THE DAY BEHIND SANDPIPER ON THE BEACH WE RENTED JET SKIS, RODE THE BANANA BOAT RIDE AND PARA-SAILING. THREE POOLS TO CHOOSE FROM PLUS A VERY RELAXING LAZY RIVER. FOR THE OLDER KIDS, THERE WAS THE TIKI BAR WITH KAROKE AND A GREAT DJ, POOL TABLES. I COULD GO ON. OH YES, WE PLAYED MINITURE GOLF AND SHUFFLE BOARD. ONE NIGHT WE ENJOYED THE POLYNISIAN SHOW.VERY GOOD DANCERS. PLUS IT IS ONE MILE FROM PIER PARK. GREAT PLACE TO STAY WITH VERY CLEAN ROOMS. YOU WONT REGRET IT. We have stayed at the Sandpiper Beacon once this year, and twice last year. Every time we have had alot of fun. The kids never are ready to leave, and always talk about our vacation once we get home. The rooms are clean, the staff is friendly and courteous. We have never had a problem. We have always received the room type we requested. When we take my mom and dad with us, we request the ground floor. Sometimes the ground floor is already booked, as we late to late to book our reservations, but the reservations people always tell me that in advance. Now, we book earlier and pay the guarantee fee for the first floor as it is well worth it to us. Pros: Clean beach, nice rooms, and lots of activities Cons: none more
