Watch out for HIGH charges! I saw Dr. Ryu in January 2012 for a sore throat. The doctor was great and I was given a prescription for an antibiotic. Everything seemed fine until I got the bill--$303 for a routine five-minute visit. If cost isn't a concern, they're fine. Otherwise, go somewhere else. more

I been there for regular drug test for employment.... Staff was totally unfriendly... they asked me to take urine and rest room had no water .... There is free coffee outside which taste horrible and if you throw that in garbage bin.. staff tells you that dont do that it cost us money :P.... more

while everyone there was very nice, all i asked for was an xray of my hand and i was billed $1233! while this was reduced after i complained, they still billed me $533!!! all i wanted was an xray. this charge included a splint (a piece of fiberglass the length of my hand and an ace bandage, which they billed an additional $4) and i didnt even ask for the splint...which was thrown out by the specialist the next day! that leaves another $250 they charged just to come in. unless you have a cadallac health plan, ask about ALL your charges BEFORE you see them...if they'll tell you since they bill out of oklahoma! they need to be more forthcoming about the rates. more

My son recently came down with a high fever and rash. I called our pediatrician's office but they couldn't fit him in that day. My friend told me about Sand Canyon Urgent Care. I've been to other urgent care facilities and haven't had the best experiences, but I had no choice. What a great decision - they took him right away and the staff was amazing. I would take any member of my family there in a minute. Highly recommend. more

I got so tired of waiting for appointments at my pediatrician's office that I decided to check out this urgent care for basic medical needs. What an amazing experience! The doctors ( there are several) are attentive and very thorough. Whether its for a flu shot or a broken finger, these guys are the best! The staff is very professional and very friendly. If you have any medical concerns for your family and don't want to wait for an appointment with your family doctor you can be seen immediately at Sand Canyon Urgent Care. It's not only Urgent Care its Great Care!! more

Dr. Lin saw my 11yr old son when he hurt his leg recently and Dr. Lin was one of the best doctors ever! He took his time and was very thorough with his evaluation, i was so grateful! As soon as we walked in, i noticed the office is kept very clean and the desk staff was very efficient. The nurses were so great and kept my son calm and comfortable. Awesome care is given at sand canyon urgent care! thanks for caring for my son! more

I had an extraordinary experience at the Sand Canyon Urgent care last night. While there treating my 8 year old son, I learned that those serving patients are all Emegency Room doctors. That's not the case in many settings like this anymore\r We left feeling like we got top rate care. We had almost no wait whatsoever and all the staff were professional and courteous. The doctor we had, Dr. Ryu, was extremely compassionate and took time to explain everything, which was very calming to not only my son but to me as well. Thumbs up. more

The doctors and staff were amazing here. My young daughter had come in with a laceration that required stitches. The nurses were very compassionate and caring with my daughter. They explained every step of the process to us. And even though it was very emotional for my daughter and I, they were very professional and calm (my daughter was screaming her head off). They treated us with respect and genuine concern not just another patient to check off their list. The whole process was very efficient as we were out of there in about an hour. I totally appreciate the intimate feel of a local community urgent care facility here in Irvine. As to the poor reviews of billing concerns, my experience was exactly the opposite. My insurance claims went through normally without a hitch. more

I had the worst medical experience I've ever had at Sand Canyon. I left the doctor's office feeling worse than when I entered due to the mental stress I endured during my visit. I found the doctors and staff calloused, yet emotional, AND unorganized. Additionally, I was prescribed two medications which, my regular doctor later told me, rendered each other less effective and are not normally prescribed together. Finally, they billed me before my insurance claim had been processed. My advice: it's worth the drive to avoid this place. Cons: all around unpleasantness more

These doctors are the most experienced, caring and established as you could ever wish for. They have spent years working in the ER at a local Hospital in Irvine. Professional and experienced! Their staff is friendly and if you need to see a medical professional, it is my experience that the wait is not long and the doctors and staff have your best interests in mind.\r \r 5 stars......or a TEN in my book! I visited the doctor for an urgent issue. I was prescribed anti-biotics. I then had to go back to the doctor twice because I had a reaction to the treatment that they prescribed for me.\r \r The doctors office admin has submitted my case to the insurance company under a ""regular office visit"" code. My insurance company covers all urgent care visits, but not regular office visits to this particular office. The insurance company say they don't work with this physician and since it wasn't urgent they won't pay. The Sand Canyon Urgent Care Center won't refile under the ""urgent"" code. \r \r The rep at the call center for the urgent care facility was rude and unhelpful. Now I am left to pay the bill, or face being reported to a credit agency. Pros: ? Cons: questionable doctors, below average outsourced billing company more
