NO COMPASSION AT ALL & OVERPRICED. Dr. Kaplow treated my ill poodle, he charged me over $1200 and then within 24 hours after my dog's last treatment (on the evening of my dog's last treatment and after collecting an additional $340), he suggested my dog be put to sleep. The following day, we had to make that horrible decision to put our little buddy that we had for over 10 years to sleep. We paid for a private cremation and a ceramic paw plaque. We were told our dog's ashes and the plaque would be available to us within 3 weeks. After not hearing from Dr. Kaplow's office for over 4 weeks, I phoned their office only to find that they forgot to send my dog to the crematoriam for cremation and that my dog had been in their freezer for the entire time. Not only did they forget to send my dog out for cremation, Dr. Kaplow referred to my dog as an ""it"" stating that he thought he tagged ""it"" to go out but he guesses they forgot about ""it."" When I expressed my concern as to how he was speaking of my beloved pet, Dr. Kaplow told me to keep my voice down and then he hung up on me. Before hanging up Dr. Kaplow made sure to complain about coming in on a weekend day that he could have spent with his children instead of with my ailing dog and he also threw in that he might have been able to do more if I chose to. WOW - We took his advise on everything except an ultrasound since he said having one would not help my dog any. He had no problem VOLUNTEERING to come in on the weekend but when HE AND HIS STAFF forgot about my dog in their freezer instead of apologizing and showing empathy and compassion, he decided to complain about his coming into the office to euthanize my dog over the weekend. Then, after all of that, he would not let my friend pick up my dog for me so I could bring him somewhere else for cremation and he did not refund the money for the cremation or paw plaque. He is a fake. He acts as if he cares for elderly dogs when in fact all he cares about is how much money he can make off you and your elderly dog. Yes, he is a smart vet, good looking and has a nice office, but I would much rather take my pets to a vet that has compassion and empathy. He should have to take classes on compassion before practicing again.\r
