My family and I have taken our animals to Dr. Steve Archinal for well over 20 years. For all that time and all the many cats that received his care, I have had complete confidence in him. When your animal is relaxed when being seen, one knows it. That has been our experience. There were many times when the procedure performed required our going to the ""back"" room and all us, Dr., patient and owner went, no secrets there, no surprises. Frankly, quite by accident I chanced on the City Search review when looking for their fax number; and, while I have never participated in a review for anyone or anything, I felt compelled to let readers know that I highly recommend Dr. Archinal and his staff. more

We have taken our dogs and cat to Dr. Archinal and have had excellent service. He is definitely conservative medicine until a more aggressive approach is needed, which is much better treatment for the animals. He not only saved our cat from a terrible raccoon attack without any surgery, but also helped bring new life with our boxer. My animals love and trust Dr. A and his staff and highly recommend them. Won't ever go back and feel sick when I have to drive by. Lost a pet to this doctor. Should have called the Vet board at 916-263-2610. Great for people who say ""I've been going there for 20 years"" . Well, my grandfather has been driving for 65 years. Point is that there is a time when you become negligent and others pay the price. My good friend brought her dog to this ""Doctor"" for a routine treatment and ended up losing her. The incompetence of this doctor allowed mistakes to be made that he refused to take responsibility for. more

PLEASE call the veterinary board and check his background before you take your loved ones here. He has a large list of complaints, several probation periods, and lawsuits. It will prevent you from going to Dr. Archinal. It was too late for my healthy pet who is now no longer with us because of Steven Archinal. Please read other reviews from other sites. He is the only vet in the area with so many similar complaints of negligence while trying to hide your pet after he has killed them. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE!!!!!! The pain he has put so many families through should not be allowed. He is a horrible person who's only care is to make money to fund his Scientology church. My family has been bringing our pets for the past 20 years to Dr. Archinal. He is fabulous! Unlike other vets, he will always make the time to talk to you on the phone if you have concerns. The staff is also very helpful! Plus, he is realitively inexpensive. They board dogs for a reasonable rate and also doesn't charge extra for doggie play groups. I think they are great. more

Dr. Archinal is the best! We have four cats and two rabbits. We drive over 25 miles because we much prefer him to our local vets. He can save your pets life without bankrupting you. Pros: Great common sense approach. Like a GP (General Practicioner) for pets. Cons: May not be as high tech as some but reflected in savings. more

I have been bringing my cats to Dr. Archinal for the last 10 years. He is kind and caring and doesn't mince words when it comes to your animals and their best interests. He saw one of my cats through a difficult illness and eventual need to have him put down. Through the whole thing, he was caring and compassionate. Anyone who says that Dr. A is anything less than a 10 is not being honest about who and what he is. I highly recommend you take your animals to him. He is very knowledgable about animals and has a nice way with them, making even the most timid of cats feel welcome and secure during a visit. Dr. A is about doing what's best for your pet, and not about making lots of $$$ off of you. I appreciate his candor, his bedsidemanner and his overall professionalism. Thanks Dr. A.! We referred a friend here and they mad a horrible mistake and the outcome of the cat is still pending. Will update this review once the issue is finished. Based on other research I've done online, avoid this place. more

I guess that some people still subscribe to the old concept that if you do your job right people will flock to your door. SRAH has always done the right thing for me and my dog. We've boarded him here when we travel, for years - - he is so happy to be there that he actually lets himself in rather than run for the front door. Helpful, understanding people, and Dr. Archinal has never recommended procedures and tests that were not necessary. He extended my dog's life by several years by spotting testicular cancer and doing the appropriate tests at the right time; then he did it again by realizing that his kidneys were going and changing his diet. fantastic.
