San Marcos

My husband and I are from the Montgomery area, but we travel all over the U.S. with the railroad, and San Marcos is still the best we've had, nobody beats their salsa. We have been eating there for years, no complaints here, can't wait to get back to town so we can go again!!!!\r \r Melissa more

This is not a true Mexican restaurant. The food was bland and if nothing else, Mexican food is NEVER bland. We went here on a few recommendations and we were was so disappointed. The meat in our taco had no flavor, they just browned meat. The rice that came with the dish equally dull. We left knowing that we would never go back. It's a great place to take children because it's not a place to go to enjoy ambience, flavor or spice.\r \r The food was dull but the wait staff was attentive and that's why it gets 2 stars instead of 1. more

The service is always fast even on a Friday night. The food is really great. I've never had a single reason for complaint there. My favorite dish is the taco salad. more

If you want some very good Mexican food then you have to try Ixtapa, to me San Marcos just seems dirty, the service is okay but the food is not that great. The chicken in all their dishes is very tough usually. When we eat Mexican it is usually somwhere else unless the kids just have to go there. more

I love San Marcos! They have great nachos...I have never eaten anything that I do not like. The atmosphere is very family oriented, which makes it a great place for me and my family to eat. more

We've been going to San Marcos for 15 years. You can count on a quick, inexpensive, great tasting Mexican meal each time! Clean, frienldy...good parking. Got to get the cheese dip! :) more

The location is very convenient for us. There is always plenty of parking and sometimes I get lucky enough to park near the door!! They offer the whole enchilada as far as the menu. My kids love the white cheese dip with their chips instead of the hot sauce, though occasionally you do get a little kick out of the cheese sauce too! I am pretty predicable the "D" (burrito, beef enchilada and taco), though my wife tries it all, her latest thing is the fish and I have to admit, though I didn't think I would like (since I am a fry kind of guy) but I have to admit it is good!! We also like the San Marcos Salad (taco salad) with either beef (my choice) or chicken (my brides choice). We have always enjoyed this restaurant. The staff is very friendly and even picks at the kids as they are bustling around working. Also a neat place to take someone for a birthday....they get an extra surprise and not just the song and dessert...they get to wear a little of the cool whip topping...LOL!! Also this more

One of my favorite restaurants in Montgomery. The food is wonderful and the staff is great. My favorite dish there is the chicken quesidilla dinner. I also love their cheese dip and tortillas. You will definitely not go hungry here and the prices are really great. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that loves Mexican food. more
