Long time Islander loves SJ Propane 9/5/2012

We've lived here for 20 years and San Juan Propane has been a lifesaver to my family. They are friendly and helpful while totally professional. When we were putting in a new propane stove (not even purchased from them!) they offered to come out and check that everything was safe. They are excellent at customer follow-up and ALWAYS there to help in an emergency. I've never heard anyone local say anything negative about San Juan Propane. more

Dishonest all the Way Around! 8/21/2012

Amerigas/San Juan Propane\r \r When I bought my house in the San Juans I naturally thought that I would go with the local propane company which I THOUGHT was San Juan Propane. I just received a letter from them telling me that I would now receive charges of $8.21 for a "Fuel Recovery Fee" PLUS $9.59 for a "HazMat & Safety Compliance Fee" which adds up to $17.80 for each delivery! If propane was $2.00/gallon I would be getting cheated out of 9 gallons!\r \r When I called Vander Yacht Propane I was informed that San Juan Propane is owned by AMERIGAS (NYSE: APU), the LARGEST propane company in the United States. And on top of that Vander Yacht only charges $3.50 for compliance and is genuinely LOCAL, as I talked with the owner there this week. Great Company! 4/27/2011

Excellent service! The whole crew at San Juan Propane has bent over backwards to help us time and time again. They are friendly and helpful. Their prices seem very reasonable, and believe me, I have checked. We love our propane heat stove, and the work done was top-notch.These people have done alot of good in our community through volunteering of time and BBQs, and donations to those in need. I would be suspicious of any negative reviews. more

The local manager has no conception of how to deal with people in a business like manner. I would strongly recommend using the competition as we have done. more

I recommend choosing another propane co... we found another great company nearby! more
