Great place for driving! 6/4/2008

I love playing at San Jose Muni, because I tend to spray my drives all over the place. There is so much room at San Jose Muni that usually I have a shot at the green. The greens are a little bit rough, but decent enough for putting, and the sand traps could use more sand! A bit pricey for a Muni course, but that is what I get for living in the valley. more

Well located not far from the downtown 2/25/2008

This Muni course is known for it's location and length. It has a large driving range so practice during your lunch break is possible. If you're an accurate hitter you'll like this course. It's greens are fair. It gets lots of play so conditioning and maintenance is a challenge . However, compared to Pasatiempo in Santa Cruz it's well located. You'll may want to take a cart but it's flat so if you're use to walking a course isn't not necessary as there's little distance from greens to the next tee box. But if you're a "Golfer", you'll want to make the hour drive across HWY 17 to enjoy one of the Top 100 Course in the country; Pasatiempo. It's semi-private so go to their website for reservations and directions. world wide web dot pasatiempo dot com more

Not bad for a muni 7/13/2006

Not bad for a Municipal Course and not to crowded either. I have played there about 20 times or so and always had a fun time. Not to far away and right off the freeway. more

good flat course 11/11/2005

i've been going to the driving range here for the past three months. they have a good pitching and sand area. their putting green is very big and offers a nice variety of difficulty levels on putting. im planning on playing their course next month from what i've heard is pretty flat, but still offers some difficulty. good pro shop and clubhouse. more

nice flat course 10/29/2005

my son is currently taking golf class and he does all his practicing here. he goes here once to twice a week to practice. they have a good chipping and sand area to practice. they also have a big putting area with a 2 layered driving range that is aobut 250 yards. their actual course is pretty flat from what i've heard but it seems like a good place to play golf. more

Nice golf course 10/8/2005

San Jose Municipal Golf Course is a nice and big golf couse. I only went here twice but I love it. This place is clean and well kept. I think it is quite suitable for beginners like me. The staffs are friendly and helpful. The price is also accetable though not as cheap as I expect. I'll recommend this place if you like golf and need a place to practice. more

Nice but Expensive 9/6/2005

I am currently taking a college golf class and we are using SJMGC as our place of practice. This place is very flat but has a lot of practice areas. It is very big and could be said located at the heart of silicon valley. The prices are slightly more expensive than other places but its not getting the full five stars because it didn't give me the "wow" factor when I first arrived there, unlike another course that I went to. If you are a beginner, this could be a confidence building course for you. more

sj golf course 8/5/2005

this golf course is huge and it has many holes, but i am not sure how many. i haven't played here myself but my friends took me there once and they love it. they have okay prices, not too expensive.. and also sell equipment just in case you do not have your own. the staff are nice and quick to get you things you need. the bad thing is that there are a lot of golfers that come here, so it can be crowded. more

Editorial
  • In Short
