Interesting Plants 10/29/2005

My mom has been coming here for the longest time. She usually goes for plant food, but ends up wandering around looking at all the interesting plants. I've been there a couple of times and although the plants are more than what you expect to pay for at Home Depot, there are a lot more interesting ones at the San Gabriel Nursery. The owners are Asian, thus there is a lot of Asian plants. My mom especially likes to goes here for Chinese New Year because she can find the plants native to her country and hand them out as gifts. more

Great selection at a visible place 10/29/2005

Driving down San Gabriel Blvd., you'll notice a big nursery on the side of the road. Its attractive plants and flowers will make you want to stop in, and once inside you will be amazed at the selection. In addition, there are statues and garden decorations you can choose from. It is definitely a helpful, affordable, and friendly local business. more

lots of green 8/31/2005

We've bought everything from trees to ground cover here. They have a spectacular array of trees, citrus, roses, shrubs, annuals, you name it. The staff is very pleasant and knowledgeable. They'll help you locate the plants on your list and give you advice about placement, water needs and varietal differences. There's a florist on site as well. Best of all they give you discount credit toward future purchases and have discounts for members of the various botanic gardens in the county. more

You can find everything you need for your garden! 8/18/2005

This is a very large nursery. There are lots of different types of plants. They sell all kinds of fertilizer, soil, and rocks for your garden, There are lots of pretty ornaments to decorate your garden. The people working there are very professional in plants. They can answer you questions about gardening and give you good advices. They have books about gardening and plants as well. more

A little Overwhelming 8/17/2005

This nursery takes up a city block and has everything from shrubs to trees. The staff is so helpful and can share their knowledge and advice. You get there and there is just so much to look at. Beautiful flowers, trees and plants. I have purchased many items over the years as this nursery has been around for many, many years. It is a staple in San Gabriel and much better than any chain store for landscaping needs. more

Great selection of plants 8/15/2005

San Gabriel Florist & Nursery has a great selection of plants. You can find anything from random trees to a huge selection of orchids and ground cover plants here. The plants at the Nusery are all raised locally. It's owned by a local Japanese family and the employees are all very helpful and really know their plants. The selection of houseplants here is amazing. I was able to find several varietys of spider plants here, which I purchased for my home. There are many other kinds of houseplants, so you can't complain about the selection here. more

huge place for plants and flowers 8/14/2005

This nursery spans almost 3 blocks. They sell everything you could ever imagine for your garden or backyard. Huge selection and variety!! They have been around for a long time, at least 10 years. They must be doing something right because they are still going strong. Small and minimal parking spaces, however there is street parking. Prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly and willing to help. more

One stop shop! 8/6/2005

If you want to plant a garden or re-landscape your house, you would want to pay a visit to the san gabriel nursery where they have all types of plants and flowers that you are looking for. the grounds of this nursery is pretty expansive and they also have more unique plants than you would find at the chain stores. the people there are friendly and you could spend hours just walking around getting inspired for ideas of how your garden will look. more

In the 1970's we hybridized the Mission Bell azalea named for its characteristic bell-shaped flower and for its origin in the “City with a Mission”.
