Thank You 7/6/2012

I recently had to take our 19 year old cat to be put to sleep due to cancerous growths on her face. The folks at the SPCA were very helpful, but more than that she was allowed to go with dignity and for that I will be forever grateful. more

One of Montana's favorite place 9/27/2006

Funny title but oh so true. Our family has been going to San Francisco SPCA for over 5 years. The Staff is excellent in caring for our 5 year Japanese Akita. He is always greeted by his name and that always amazes me because they care for thousands of animals and yet always remembers our dog each and everytime he comes in. Their prices are always cheaper than anywhere else that I have been. You can make a same day appointment if it's urgent. If you are not sure how urgent it is you can bring your dog in and a Technician will come to the lobby and look at the animal and will make a decision if the animal should be seen right away or can wait for an appointment. WOW.. i love this place and you will too. PROS: Excellent Service. The Staff is wonderful. And it is very affordable CONS: none more

Great 11/2/2005

Great service. Went to get my dog (Oreo) neutered and they did a quick job. They were very nice and treated me and my pet great. Oreo unfortunately pasted away and we brought him to SPCA to have him burried. Great staff. A+. more

Amazing shelter - like a condo complex for cats and dogs 9/15/2005

I visited the SF SPCA not long ago, and what an experience! I was already forewarned that this shelter would be unlike any other, but I was still in awe as I walked around. If I do adopt a cat in the near future, I would definitely come here first! From what I hear, this is a no-kill shelter. Thankfully, it receives enough money from generous people in order to run the way it does. It seems like every cat had its own mini-condo. They even have their own TVs to watch Catnip TV! You can tell that the animals here are treated with so much care and love. It would be so wonderful if every shelter were like this one! Even if you are not looking to adopt, you should definitely take a trip here! Super clean, wonderful staff and volunteers - very impressive! PROS: Clean, modern, friendly staff, WONDERFUL! CONS: None that I can think of! more

great place to adopt 9/12/2005

I went here with my best friend when he wanted to adopt a dog. The staff was very friendly and the place was clean and orderly. We found a great dog for him (Akita mix) and two years later, she's still a great dog. The SPCA also offers dog behavior classes at good rates. more

FABULOUS place to find a new pet 8/16/2005

The SPCA was amazing, I was so impressed with their facility, and they treat the animals there with the best care. The brochures and check lists they gave me with my new tabby were really helpful (and written in a fun to read way). And the little things like a free vet visit and 10% off coupon for my choice of vet and pet store made bringing my little friend home all the easier. Pros: Clean, Knowledgable, Caring more

Good place to adopt a cat or dog! 6/23/2005

Caring staff, lots of kind volunteers, and tons of adorable cats and dogs. I've adopted several cats from here and wouldn't go elsewhere. Why go anywhere else? PROS: Adorable animals CONS: None more

Low cost spay/neuter 7/25/2004

We took our kitten to get fixed and it was very inexpensive. $40 for neuter and $25 for a micro chip! The only down side was that we could not check on him during the 8 hour period that they held him at the clinic. Pros: low cost, fast scheduling more
