Editorial review from Citysearch 6/6/2013

Wow, that's what I would say.\r Great prices, great staff.\r I frequent this laundry weekly, usually on Wed late afternoon when it's not so busy.\r I always leave with clean cloth clothes and I love talking to the lady there, here name is Oyun.\r She's so nice and has been there since they opened in Jan of 2005\r I don't understand the negative review by Avenger21 since these guys are kinda 'green' and don't allow chlorinated bleach in the store. Just sounds like a lazy person trying trying to get something for nothing no matter the cost, including ruining some of his own clothes before he brought them in. An old scam for sure and I'm sorry this laundromat had to experience it. \r I sometimes go with different friends if it's late in the day and they always comment on how clean the laundry is kept and how nice Oyun is. \r Their machines always work when you use them correctly (I did have to learn how) and my clothes are always clean. Their dryers don't waste your clothes like others I've used and there's plenty of room to fold them. My review is very positive and is to tell you to use this place if you have the opportunity. There aren't too many places like this left in San Francisco, especially in this area. The owner has done a great job staying in business and should be commended. \r more

No Greed or Arrogance Here! 8/4/2011

Don't know what this other reviewer is talking about. These guys have only been in business since 2005 so he obviously is talking about a different laundromat than the one on the corner of Post and Hyde. This place rocks! At times I do my own laundry, other times I have them do it. I do remember having one problem there though, a couple of years ago. I accidentally left my pen in my cargo pants and they washed it. Of course my pants were ruined. Totally my fault, yet they offered to replace the pants even though it was against their policy (the customer is responsible to remove any foreign items from the clothing) Of course I said no since it was my fault but it was nice to see that they were offering. This is one of the reasons I come back again and again. They are very clean, always have staff in the store, their machines always work flawlessly and they are always busy with both wash and fluff customers and quarter customers. They're priced right and always have given me great service. But don't believe everything you read. Do a load there and feel what I'm talking about. I'm pretty sure they haven't had a successful business for over 5 years by ruining or losing their customers clothes, that's for sure! more

Greed and Arrogance at S.F. Coin Laundry 6/23/2010

I was a steady customer of this Laundromat for over 10 years. But in February, 2010 they ruined/lost $265.00 worth of my laundry and refused to fully reimburse me for it. They also charged me $40 for the wash without reducing the price. \r \r Although it cost me more than $200 to replace these lost/ruined items, the Laundry offered only $60, saying they refused to reimburse for more than that. \r \r I threatened the owner, Irena Cortez, with small claims court. She said that if I showed her the ruined clothing at the Laundromat she would reimburse me. When we met she quickly said, ""IF we ruined your laundry"" when the bleach-stained shirts/pants were in full view. She refused to fully reimburse me. So I reclaimed my ruined laundry and left.\r \r I filed a lawsuit against her in small claims court on April 14.\r \r I met her in court on June 21--and was improperly served with a false counter-claim: That I owed her $2,500 because (1) I had made an ""invalid"" claim; (2) she had tried to settle it out of court three times; and (3) she felt I owed her for ""time lost for work and transportation costs.""\r \r I asked for a postponement and a second date was set. \r \r I faced off again with Irena Cortez in small claims court on June 21. To her dismay, she had to withdraw her false counter-claim against me because it had been improperly served. \r \r She denied they even used bleach--when ""bleach"" was written on several receipts. She denied that the clothing had been ruined in HER Laundromat. She said they COULDN'T have lost/ruined my laundry because NO ONE HAD MADE SUCH A CLAIM BEFORE. (The judge pointed out: ""Someone is making it now."")\r \r Finally Cortez admitted that SOME of the laundry HAD been ruined by bleach. \r \r The judge listened to her evasions and arrogance (at one point she even started to argue with him). Then he ruled against her. Stunned, she left court in a huff.\r \r AVOID THIS LAUNDROMAT! If they ruin/lose your laundry, be prepared to sue in small claims court, because they won’t behave responsibly otherwise. They offer only a bare minimum as compensation.. \r \r AND IF YOU DARE TO TAKE THEM TO SMALL CLAIMS COURT, BE PREPARED FOR THEM TO FILE A FRIVOLOUS, VINDICTIVE SUIT AGAINST YOU IN RETURN. more

You Gotta Try This Coin Laundry!!! 6/6/2010

I've lived in SF all my life, been doing my laundry in laundromats all my life and I've been using this laundromat since they opened five years ago. I hate doing laundry, but I like the location. It's right on the corner of Post and Hyde, 5 steps from where the bus drops you off, and it's really, really clean. The loads cost from $2.25 to $6.50 depending on the size of the machine and the time you come in. Try and go on the weekends if you can. Their wash and fold prices are the same as anywhere else you go, a buck a pound. They have new washers and dryers with clear instructions. Their change machine works too! One last thing I have to mention since I saw it happen and I know she doesn’t know how to use a computer. About a month ago or so I was doing laundry next to an old, old lady. I saw she was having a hard time and I was about ready to ask her if she needed help when the attendant came over and automatically started helping her with her laundry. I secretly kept my eye on the two of them as I did my own laundry and I saw that the attendant went out of her way to make the old lady feel at ease and comfortable while she helped her move clothes and from the washer to the dryer and to fold her clothes. I couldn’t believe my eyes. Here, in San Francisco? The next week when I saw the same attendant I told her thank you for what I had seen. You know what she said? She said it was part of her job and she was happy to do it! I like doing laundry now! Henry L\r Pros: The attendants that work there, absolutely Cons: Really busy during the week nights more

Attendants at your service and GREAT prices!! 2/16/2010

I've been there more than once, maybe 40 or 50 times. I use them every weekend and I pay the $2.00 per washer load, NOT $3.00 like the others charge. All of the other coin laundries in the neighborhood DO NOT HAVE attendants to fix your4 problems, SF Coin does and they do a great job. I have never been dissatisfied with the soap machine or the change machine or the washers or the dryers. My problems (as few as they’ve been) have always been fixed promptly and always to my satisfaction. As a customer, I have never been dissatisfied. The washers and dryers are the cleanest in the City. I’ve patronized, usually due to circumstances out of my control, more than a dozen other coin laundries in the City and this one has always been the cleanest, without a doubt. I wish they would open more locations! Pros: Cleanest laundry I've ever used Cons: I did my own when they offer fast & cheap drop-off service more
