My children took from there for two years. Then, we decided to switch to private, thinking it would be better, even though it was a little more. It wasn't! We went through 3 different teachers who would come to our home (that was convenient, though) but they were late or absent and one moved. One wouldn't do make-ups when we had to cancel at the last minute and we still got charged for the lesson. Two of them didn't even have music degrees - one had a degree but it was from a foreign country. After a year of hopping around with these other teachers, we went back to San Diego Music Studio. My kids progress just as fast as when they were with the private teachers. They say they like it better and are more comfortable there. It's cheaper too, so I'm not going to complain!!!
Pros: Flexible with make-ups, teachers are qualified, affordable
Cons: They don't come to the home and classes are only group
