I wanted to express my gratitude to the owner of the Bar in San Clemente that came to rescue as many train passengers as he could fit in his luxurious van and drove us safely to our different destinations in San Diego at 11.30 PM on Tuesday April 3rd. 2012. This gentleman refused to take any money that some of us offered to pay for gas. \r

I was very lucky to be one of those passengers that he accomodated in his van since I am 77 years old and I was expected home at 9.45PM. The rest were two ladies, three young children and two young girls. \r

Our Armtrak train coming back from Los Angeles to San Diego was delayed 1 hour and 15 minutes. In addition, at the San Clemente Station we had to stop because the cargo train in front of us had a fatality, The only information that we were given is that it would take at least two hours for the Police to complete their investigation and the train operators suggested that some of us could take taxis or call friends and relatives to come and pick us up at the San Clemente Station. \r

I decided that I was not going to wait inside a hot train without knowing for sure how long it would take to clear the tragedy. I started walking along the train platform looking for a place with an ATM machine since I did not have enough cash to pay for a taxi. I saw a Hotel sign and I went in straight to the Bar. The girl taking care of the Bar was very and simpathetic. Unfortunately, they did not have an ATM machine and the places that had ATM's were closed by then. All of a sudden, the manager or owner of the Hotel told me that the owner of the Bar was coming with his van to help some of the stranded people. Probably he was watching TV and ready to go to sleep but nevertheless he decided to do a good deed. This restored my faith in humanity. The gentleman owns or manages two Bars. The one in San Clemente and another one in Dana Point. The San Clemente Bar is the ""Sunsets Bar"" and the Dana Point is ""Still Water"". What a nice man. Thank you again.
