Sam's is the place to go if you're looking for a special bottle of wine or some gourmet cheese. The building looks much like a Home Depot of alcohol; the staff is quite informed about their products, so don't hesitate to ask questions. The weekends often feature tastings and vendor sampling. The beer selection is amazing, and prices are more than reasonable. If you're looking to expand your beer and wine horizons, this is the place to start. Liquors and cordials are also plentiful here; I was quite impressed by their selection of limoncello. more

The Best Wine Store 1/29/2006

Sam's selection is rivaled only by the other Sam's (in the city near North and Clybourn), and the friendly, courteous, staff is invaluable. On top of all that, the prices are excellent. You can find $5 Champaigns, $8 ports and more. If a distributor supplies it, Sam's stocks it at a great price. more
