Sam's Ristorante & Pizzeria

Sams on Riverside is my favorite restaurant. They do everything and they do it all very well. The carryout is always quick and friendly and if I'm being lazy the delivery is usually pretty fast as well. The building is very nice looking and has a warm welcome feel. They make some wonderful specialty drinks/martinis (their chocolate martini is my wife's favorite). The servers all do a wonderful job and make sure we are taken care of. We haven't personally used their banquet rooms but friends of ours had their daughter's wedding there and were very pleased. more

Our family went to Sams last night. It was a Saturday night so it was pretty busy but we got a table quickly and still got great service from our waitress. We were suprised at how many options we had to choose from on the menu. The kids really enjoyed their pizza and and my wife and I enjoyed our dinners as well. The ribeye was done perfectly medium rare! The prices were very reasonable. Sams is without a doubt the best Italian food in Rockford. more

My team came in four a tournament and needed some where that could accomidate the whole team and the parents. There was 45 of us. We asked for seperate checks and were told no problem. They were placed us in a private room and took great care of us! Food was wonderful and the service matched. Our team found a new stop every time we are in Rockford. more

HORRIBLE!! DONT SUGGEST IT AT ALL!! the owner michele(the old guy) made me pay FULL PRICE for the pizza just because i forgot the coupon and was yelling at the same time..SERIOUSLY.. out of all people you would of thought the owner would make an exception to keep future business not lose it. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! more

I had placed an order for two pizzas and the total was $23.48. I gave them $40(two twenties) and they only gave me $6.52 in change. When i called to complain they claimed i had only given them $30(a ten and a twenty) which is know is a complete lie because i had just gone to the ATM to get cash for the pizza and ATMs only give you twenty dollar bills. I fought over the phone with one of the owners about it and he said he balanced his drawer and he wasnt over any, and there was nothing he could do. my family and I have been good customers of theirs for awhile now and I was truely shocked that they were treating us like this. By far the absolute worst customer service i have ever witnesed!!! I will NEVER go back to them again and i would advise everyone reading this to not do business with these lying thieves. more

Sam's pizzeria in Rockford has some great tasting pizza, and it is in a really nice looking building. The prices are pretty cheap for their pizza, but they also have other things such as pasta, which you would expect from an Italian restaurant. You can either dine in, carry out, or have food delivered. It's my favorite place for pizza in the Rockford area. more

We have ordered from Sam's a couple of times. The pizza is fabulous, good crust and quality toppings. However, the sandwiches are a bit small for the price and their "Italian Salad" said to serve 1-2 is barely a side salad. The calzones are relatively small but they are stuffed with toppings and cheese. I suggest the pizza and not get the other side items. more
