My husband, a long time prior resident of Spring recommended this place to me. Their signs boast all you can eat chicken fried steak and my mom and I decided to give it a try. We went in today for the lunch buffet. The place is rather dark, homely, and Southern. The selection for the buffet is very poor. So little variety was offered in fact that I can easily recount everything it included. Fresh green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy (cream or dark), cooked and cut corn, chili mac, smothered meat loaf, baked chicken, vegetable soup, potato soup, a salad bar with some old fruit, different breads, and ranch style baked beans. None of their famous chicken fried steak was included. I was very disappointed. Some of the vegetables were good. The homemade vegetable soup was excellent. But we paid $6.99 for a small, run of the mill buffet?! Golden Corral is expensive, but I believe I'll take my business there from now on.
Pros: Good cornbread and vegetable soup
Cons: very poor selection for what we paid, no chicken fried steak in sight
