Oh, what a joy to eat here... 12/4/2010

I have had a long, ongoing love affair with Samosa House for many years now. Seriously, it is one of the best Indian places I have found. I have not been to India, but they definitely hold their own against some of the fancy places in London. Granted, the place is *not* fancy, and you will be eating off of paper trays. This is one drawback for those seeking more than just delicious food, however for around $8 you have your own vegetarian Indian feast and even enough to take home for a midnight snack. I highly recommend Samosa House! more

One of My All-Time Favorites 9/20/2009

If you want really fantastic Indian food for a great price, then you must head to Samosa House. As someone who did long-term travel through India, this is the only place I have been to in the States (NY included) whose food actually brings me back to India, No greasy Americanized tika masala here...instead you'll find a lovely array of veg buffet dishes--South Indian coconut curry, jackfruit, lentils, etc. The space, a lovely Indian market, is a delight as well. I just went to India Sweet and Spices on Venice Blvd because I happened to be nearby, assuming it would be the same, and it is a world of difference. As a Culver City resident, Samosa House is by far my favorite neighborhood joint and is leagues apart from other Indian buffets in town. Pros: delicious authentic food Cons: hole in the wall, which I like, just know that before you go more

Great, Cheap Indian food 7/23/2008

This is a really great place. All vegetarian food, lots of options, spicy, Indian deliciousness. Staff was very nice and the place is clean. Best Indian food I have had in the area! I would recommend to anyone, I bring all my friends here and have never been disappointed. Pros: Great food, clean, prices, staff! Cons: Its not the most beautful place ever, in a market, not romantic. . . more

SOOOOO GOOD! 10/17/2007

This place is the bomb. It is definitely my favorite Indian place on the West Side (and I love Indian food). The people working there couldn't be any nicer. The food is fantastic; I recommend the paneer masala and the jackfruit. It's super affordable too. I pay a visit on at least a biweekly basis. Pros: Great food, great price, great service more

Dude, go to Samosa House...it's awesome! 10/11/2007

My wife and I were looking for a quick bite before a meeting, and I'd been meaning to try Samosa House because every time I drove by it just looked really good. So we decided to give it a shot. The moment we walked in the door we were blasted with an awesome sweet smell of curry and spices and it just got better from there. The menu is simple, you can order a combo plate, samosas and a few other items...so we went for the combo and a couple of samosas. For the combo, you can choose any three items (all vegetarian and selections change daily) from about 10 choices and I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. I really couldn't even tell you what we ate, but it was REALLY REALLY GOOD...and inexpensive. We both ate for $11. After dinner we explored the Indian market (it's mainly a market ) and decided that we'd have to head back for a full shopping trip...and dinner of course...because it all looked so good but we were running short on time. Definitely check this place out! Pros: Everything...the food, the market, the sweet aroma. Cons: Still looking for the cons. more

Delicious indian food for a great price!!!! 9/29/2007

I am addicted to this restaurant. The food is delicious. The combination plate consists of 3 different dishes, rice, bread, and raita for a very low price. The menu is all vegetarian, andis always really tasty. The people working the counter are so friendly and love to have you sample dishes that you are unfamiliar with. This is a great local Indian restaurant, and I admit I must dine here about once a week. If you are looking to try something new, I definitely recommend the Samosa House. I have been raving about it for months. Pros: Delicious food with a lot of flavor, great value, really nice staff Cons: If you need meat during your meals, this place is not for you. But trust me, the food is very filling. more
