The truth is, and most everyone knows this about me, I haven't had a male doctor in years. Why? Because as a female, I always felt that female doctors would know female patients better. Unfortunately, after having a horrid experience with a female gyno at Cedars, I requested all of my medical records to date and rushed them over to Dr. Samaan. He has been my mother's doctor/gyno for 20 years now. Her review is below under ""grannyval"".
At first I was hesitant, but I knew he has always taken good care of my mother. Now, he is taking good care of me.
He is kind and listens to you. He reviewed all of my records. My first visit was quite long but only because he was being thorough. Even though he is out of network on my insurance, it is worth the money that I am paying out of pocket for his care. I am 50 years old and completely 100% menopausal and I got free samples of Activella (HRT) which I love. He won't prescribe Prempro (another positive about this doctor). He truly knows his hormone replacement therapies.
The first visit after transferring my medical records to him was for the results of my current gyno exam and a complete physical. In his review of my gyno exam he discovered that my exam stated that a proper amount of sample was not taken in order to provide any results. Just imagine if I had not gone to him. Would I have received a call indicating such and that another sample needed to be taken? He gave me another complete gyno exam that day. I am extremely grateful he caught that on my records.
So, if anyone ever has anything bad to say about this doctor as I read before (the nasty posting is no longer showing), trust me, they'll be hearing from me.
ROCK ON DR. SAMAAN!!!
