(Updated on 12.04.08) If you expect Morton"s or Waterfront Seafood Grill Service - this is not your place. This is more informal, family and friendly styled dining experience.
I am a good friend with an owner, and I enjoy dining there. We held small and large corporate and birthday parties there, and everyone loved it.
Things to remember: this is not Tod English's restaurant so don't expect something extraordinary. But food and wine are just fine, so stop complaining. Each chef has his/her idea on how to cook their dishes, and if it is not what you like or used to, well it's your problem, not chef's. There is no place on Earth with 100% satisfaction rate (even in a 5 star restaurant you may not like everything, right?).
Sam does a good job runing the place, and regulars know it very well. By the way, 90% of his clients are regulars and he's been in business for a while, so that should tell you something.
And to those who complain about Salute being overpriced. If you are used to chain type/cheap chow, Salute may seem overpriced. But if you dine at nice places frequently you know their prices are actually pretty good.
By the way, I just came from NY and at Gramercy Park Hotel's bar paid $9.00 for a cup of tea. Now that's pricey...
Pros: Parking, Food, Price
Cons: None
