This is a great small town vet. They understand the issues facing animals living in this area. They take excellent care of your animals when getting spayed or neutered (or any other over night care they offer, but I've mostly had experience with getting cats spayed and neutered, thank goodness only once having to bring in an injured kitty for overnight care). I like that for shots, a check up, or an injury you can just bring your pet right in. You will have to schedule spay / neuter but since the animals need to have their vaccinations before they can lodge with fellow pets during their stay, you'll just schedule the when you're there for shots. Hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 2-5pm. Currently kitty vaccinations (rabies,, and distemper) are $40. Male kitty neutered $35. Female kitty spayed $70. I don't know the dog rates since I don't have any dogs. more

Great veterinary clinic! They have odd hours being 2-5pm Monday, Wednesday, and Friday because they are a small facility. I've had many cats spayed and neutered with them. You take your kitty in on say a Monday, they take the kitty to the Tappahonock clinic, do the surgery, take care of the kitty, and then you pick up kitty Wednesday. It's great because they take care of the kitty and you get him back once he's feeling better and no longer woozy from the surgery. They've always taken great care of my cats. They are a rural Vet office so if your animals are inside / outside or one or the other they are understanding and won't judge you for it. They just want to take care of your pets the best they can. Also, their prices are completely fair. I've called around and no one has a better spay / neuter rate or better rates on vaccinations. I highly recommend this vet. more
