Saltgrass Steak House

When I asked my Judy’s Book friends to give me recommendations on places to eat in or around Dallas – Saltgrass Steakhouse came up. I am so glad I listened! We went to the Irving location which was closest to our hotel – but I saw many other locations around the area in our travels. I had a steak and my husband had the Chicken Fried Steak and neither of us went away hungry! The meals included bread and salad in addition to the side items that come with the entrees. I ordered my steak well done and it was done perfectly – most places will still leave a little pink in them which I personally don’t like. This was probably the best (or second best at worst) steak I have ever had! I have never had butter served on my steak – I wasn’t sure about it at first – but that brought a lot of flavor to the meat! My least favorite part of the meal was the bread – but then again I am not a fan of sourdough breads. Their dessert tray looked delicious – but by the time we got done with our meals we had no room for anything else! What can I say? I love a good thick steak smothered in mushrooms and just off the grill! Saltgrass has a selection of other meals as well, but they are a steakhouse! Very friendly and prompt wait staff ready to meet your every need. They serve only Angus Certified beef cooked to perfection the way you order it. The steaks are topped with fresh garlic butter and seasoned with their Saltgrass-7 steak spice which is also available for purchase to take home with you. Prices are about what you would expect from a good steak house, but not so much that it would break the bank eating there. Saltgrass is also owned by Landry's Restaurants so if you have gift cards for Landry's they will work here as well. more
