Salter School of Nursing & Allied Health fosters a career advancement program, beginning with basic academic skills and an opportunity for those with existing family and/or work responsibilities to acquire a health career education in a competency-based, non-traditional scheduling format offered on day or evening/week-end schedules.

The Practical Nursing Program is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC). It is the entity that is responsible for the specialized accreditation of nursing education programs, both post-secondary and higher degree, which offers a certificate, a diploma, or a recognized professional degree (Clinical Doctorate, Master's/Post-Master's, Baccalaureate, Associate Degree, Diploma, and Practical Nursing).
. Programs Offered at this Location:
Licensed Nursing Assistant (NH Board of Nursing approved) - This course provides the information and skills to enable nursing assistants to give quality care in a variety of settings. BLS,Adult,Infant and Child,AED training are included.
Patient Care Technician - This program provides learning experiences which encompass the scope of practice of the Nursing Assistant,Phlebotomist and Electrocardiographer and is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to acquire confidence in direct care giving,successful collection,process and transport of laboratory specimens,and the administration of Electrocardiography techniques.
Phlebotomy (Approved by the National Healthcare Association) - This program is designed to provide students with the skills necessary to successfully collect,process and transport blood specimens. Upon successful completion,graduates are eligible to sit for the NHA Exam,the cost of which is included in the tuition.
Practical Nursing (NH Board of Nursing approved) - This all inclusive program provides the student with the necessary learning experiences to prepare her/him to practice caregiving within the scope and standard of care directed by the regulatory/licensing body (BON) and the employing agency.
Surgical Technology - Students will study all aspects within the field of perioperative services,including but not limited to,medical law and ethics,perioperative environments,pharmacology,sterilization,anatomy and physiology,sterile technique OSHA regulations,anesthesia,instrumentation,communication skills,medical terminology,and procedures within the medical specialties.
