Salon Tantrum

I have to admit I was fighting going into the salon. I had been hearing how expensive it was and didn’t want to get hooked. I finally broke down and tried it and let’s just say all of the talk was true!! From the moment that you walk off the elevator you feel like you are in a big city, yet I never felt intimidated. I truly felt like everyone there genuinely wanted me to feel like a million bucks. I had the best consultation and got better that expected results. I tried some hair extensions and my husband can’t keep his hands off me. I am definitely hooked and I plan on trying all of the spa services. Thanks to all the Management and owners for giving me the best experience I have ever had!!! Pros: Amazing Customer service, Quality,Ambiance was incredible Cons: NONE more

Salon Tantrum is by far the best Salon in Northern Utah. Their staff is very friendly, professional and knowledgeable about the hair trade and business. They offer a wide variety of services and appointment times that are convenient for any working schedule. Tawnya is by far the best stylist around! She completed a full set of hair extensions on me, as well as a cut and style, within a 90-minute time period. I was back to work at no time at all and looked amazing thanks to her! I would definitely recommend Salon Tantrum to all my friends and family! Pros: Very knowledgeable, professional, friendly and fast! Cons: none more

I came to Salon Trantrum after reading the great reviews and left very disappointed! I do agree that the people and place are very nice, but not worth the price they charge. I left with one of the worst hair cuts I have ever had. My bangs look like when a child gets ahold of scissors for the first time. Now, I'm not saying that all the stylist are bad and maybe the one I had was just having a bad day. But now I'm the one that had to pay the price and wait for my hair to grow. It's like the saying "the difference between a bad hair cut and a good one is about 2 weeks." Pros: nice place Cons: Over Priced! more

I had been looking for a new stylist since I moved up to the Layton area and saw Salon Tantrum on my way home from work one day. I finally decided to give it a try and I'm so glad I did. I couldn't believe how professional and friendly everyone was. I was greeted right away when I came in the door and was immediately offered a drink. I had made an appointment with Tawnya and she gave me a tour around the salon. Tawnya made sure to ask questions about what I liked and didn't like about previous haircuts and made sure the picture I had chosen of a hairstyle would work for me. She also didn't ask me a bunch of specific questions about every little detail, she just did it like the picture and made it look good. I would feel totally comfortable letting her just cut away and give me a style she thought was best. I also liked that they have a room there specifically for training on new styles and methods. One of the other stylists there felt comfortable enough to come up and ask questions about how Tawyna was cutting my hair and the techniques she was using. It's nice to see that the people who work there actually care about improving and making their clients look good. Not only did I also get frozen grapes and a great head and face massage, I got an amazing hair cut. I will definitely be back! Pros: Great atmosphere, friendly staff, many services, awesome haircut! Cons: It's a little pricier than your Super Cuts, but totally worth it! more

I used to own a salon so I was curious to see if all the hype was accurate about this new salon in town, Salon Tantrum. The ambiance, the customer service and the staff all surpassed my high expectations. When I visit a salon I want the appointment to be "all about me", and it was. I especially enjoyed the frozen grapes, cup of mixed nuts and cucmber water offered to me. There was beautiful artwork to enjoy at every turn, and I know I will never again miss an appointment as they assured me they will call to remind me. I am afraid my last stylist has just lost a customer! more

If you want to get some great extra's like the best shampoo & head message you'll ever experience, treats & drinks and free makeup touchups ( ALL, NO CHARGE), Salon Tantrum is the place to relax and feel pampered for a very reasonable price. Every service I recieved seemed to extend to the 10th degree. I have had lots of facials in my day, at some pretty exclusive extablishments, but this was the best one I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing. I could tell that Carly loves what she does. I know it sounds corny, but she was completely comitted to making me feel fabulous. My Pedicure from Jamie was also perfect. I enjoyed a beautiful view while sitting in the most confortable chair, all along having my feet pampered, what could be better. The master stylists are fabulous, ask for Tawnya or Tommy (owners), you won't be sorry. They have a vested interest in ensuring your experience is just what you hoped for. They really listen to what you want and make sure you get it. I wish I had a before and after picture to post. My color was perfect and the cut was fabulous. Best of all my hair felt wonderful to touch. Tawnya recommended a special hair treatment from Kerastase, man, what a difference. I felt like a movie star when I left. You will have a very high end experience without all the arrogance. I loved every minute of the time I was there. I wasn't rushed in any way. Yep, I had a great day! Can't wait to get back. So have you ever been to a salon where the elevator is the front door? When you first step foot out of your ride from the elevator, you walk into a salon atmosphere that takes you out of a place called Utah. You would never believe that such a highend and chic environment would exist in a city like Layton, UT. The decor just warms your body and relaxes your mind, but the fireplace and juicebar may also be a culprit in that. The shelves are filled with high end name brands such as Kerastase, Bumble and Bumble, and other products that are far from my L.A. Looks hair gel that I'm normally used to. The service is amazing with the vibe of an L.A. or NY styled salon. With just a plain scheduled Men's hair cut, I am greeted with a warm welcome with a pleasantly tasting cucumber water. They also have other beverage products to choose from, but i recommend trying the cucumber water if you never had it before. I am then whisk away to the most relaxing of chairs to have my hair washed. To my surprise, I am then smothered with a warm towel over my face with a most interesting and relaxing facial massage. This the typical standard treatment that comes with every hair cut. The environment is relaxing with several unique art pieces surrounding you. The music is trendy but is just soft background music if you don't wish to speak to your chatty stylist. Not that I'm complaining but sometimes you just want to listen. At the time I was there, the view from the outside was refreshing because of the amazing snow storm that was passing through. This was hard to miss because of huge glass windows that surround you. Overall, I paid $35 for a Mens hair cut/style and was very impressed with the outcome of the cut. It's not your typcial $5 cut. But if you like dull scissors, a bowl cut, smell of pizza, and used to dying your hair with products from your local grocery store. Salon Tantrum is definitely not for you. But if you need a change, you should consider on stopping by Salon Tantrum...
