I love Sul Mare and will never go anywhere else. I had Karen offer to cut my hair after the lady I was seeing left the salon. I was nervous to try someone new because I am really picky about my cut. I decided to give her a try. I was so happy with the cut I have been going back for 3 years. Karen does such a great job and I always get compliments from strangers, even weeks after the cut. The salon is clean, staff is friendly, prices are decent and Karen is wonderful!! By far the best salon in Gig Harbor. more

The owner of this salon has been doing my hair for over 15 years. Because she does such a fantastic job, many of us travel over 45 minutes just to have her do our hair. This salon is such fun to go to.\r During the summer it is so nice to sit out on the deck and enjoy the view while your color is processing.\r All stylists always make you feel welcome from the minute you come through the door. The prices here are comparable to any other "quality" salon.In Carrie's review she mentions the owner only does "old school" cuts. The owner and her staff travel to hair shows at least once a year to keep updated on color and current trends in cuts etc. She also mentions there is no offer of coffee or water. What do you want, a waiter?? The beverages, and condiments, are right there as you enter the salon. You are welcome to take as much and as often as you wish. Even though this is self-serve, I always hear the stylists ask the client if they would like something to drink. I highly recommend this more

I am a customer of Sul Mare and have seen alot of the sylists there.They have a great variety of skill, style and age.As far as the owner goes( I usually see her) I think she does a great job and has always been nice to me.Her prices are no more than other places I've been.I pay 45.00 for a haircut that usually takes an hour.These reviews are so unfair, anyone can write them... good or bad.If you have a concern about something why not be part of a solution and talk to someone in hopes to see an improvement rather than being a coward and posting negative junk with a fake name.By the way, the refreshments are all right there in the lobby, self serve.I would reccomend this salon to anyone. more

Most of they stylists are cute and trendy, but the owner thinks she's hot stuff and has no reason to. Her hair cuts are old school - no new updated techniques and her prices are high. There is never an offer for coffee or water like at the better salons and I never feel welcome or appreciated. They get a lot of business because of their location but I would pass on this one and look for a salon that tries harder to appreciate their customers more

I have been going to Jean Marie for over a year and I am always extremely happy when I leave. Yes, it is more than a usual great clips price but it looks like it costs more. Make sure you schedule for Jean Maria far in advanced because she is usually booked. more

This salon is very busy. and sometimes can be very loud, but to me it is worth it. My hair stylist Laura is always chearful and down to earth. She always asks if I want anything to drink. the last time I was in it was a cold day and I was afraid to take off my jacket, but knew I had to or else it might get color on it. She seemed to sence my shivers and brought be a warm towell and cape that must have come straight from the dryer. I was so happy and relaxed that I feel asleep while she was putting in the foils. I have never left unhappy, and always look forward to my next appointment. more

The lighting is sooo bright you leave with a migraine. The place is filthy. The stylist that was so highly recommended from Gene Juarez was hard to understand her speech, she seemed scattered brained and I wasn't sure what kind of hair cut I was going to get. When I left it was cute. But never could style it right. Wasn't greeted at front desk or offered beverages. The music was loud and offensive. I'd never go back to this salon again. more
