I got a spray tan from Salon Michael today, love the color already and have gotten so many compliments. Not orange at all.. I'm super excited to see what it looks like in 2 days. Love it, love it, love it... Very happy with the services I have received. Never had a problem, very reliable and personable staff (they always remember clients). I recommend Salon Michael to all my friends! For women who are interested in waxing services and are nervous about the pain go to Rita, she is the best.... Pros: Personable staff, efficient, timely, email reminders for appointments. Cons: Street parking in Lincoln Park, but I haven't had a huge problem more

I had been going to the same stylist for years and years, and was scared to death to try someone new, but Marcella convinced me to try Chrissy, and she did an amazing job. The color job she did was awesome, and the cut was excellent too. I haven't ever gotten as many compliments on my hair as I do now. Everyone there is warm and friendly. I've now been going there over a year, and I've gotten manicures, lash tinting and spray tans there as well, and am always pleased with my experience. I used to spend $$$ on perms until Michael Cunningham convinced me about 11 years ago to ""go straight"" - and boy, was he right! People all across the States have told me not to ever change stylists - he's the absolute best for short hair. It''s always been a happy place with caring and sweet people. Michael grew it from a small storefront into a super soothing and beautiful full-service salon/spa. Their aesthetician is fabulous too - just had my blond eyebrows & lashes tinted for the first time with fabulous results. I feel like I'm going to have to adopt Michael - he's one of the reasons I'm not planning to leave Chicago any time soon! I have been going to this salon for over 11 years now. I have seen so many positive changes over all these years. However, the one thing that stays the same always is owner/stylist, Michael Cunningham. He has become a dear friend and a very reliable stylist to me.\r \r His salon is so professional and updated. The staff is terrific and versatile. \r \r A new client would never have to worry about their hair being cut too short or dyed too red or whatever the case may be. I feel Michael is somewhat conservative with the way clients want change and this is a good thing! He keeps things current without drastically doing it. \r \r There are excellent services within this salon and the wait time is very well respected. Great products being used on the back bar as well as for sale. The shampoo assistant, Elizabeth gives the best shampoo! \r \r This is a salon/spa everyone should try! Amy is the most fantastic nail specialist in the world. Her pedicures are to die for. You cannot ask for a more welcoming atmosphere. You feel like you are visiting a friend in their home. The ambiance is wonderful, the staff very gracious and friendly.\r I received a 60 minute facial from Rita, who assessed my skin needs and didn't try to over sell me products I would never need! I highly recommend Salon Michael. I have been a loyal client for about 8 years or so and can't imagine ever switching salons. And, they now offer hair extensions! I have always wanted nice, thick, longer hair and now I have it. Danyel really knows what she's doing and while extensions take some getting used to, if you want a new look, it might be worth the heavy investment. Michael and Marcella are wonderful. They really care about their clients and so you always fee welcome and happy in Salon Michael. And, I always leave feeling great about my hair, skin or nails or whatever I had done that day. Michael is a master with color and the space is so appealing. And, they are great about helping find the right hair and skin products for you. I've been a loyal client of Salon Michael for well over 10 years. I love the intimate, homey atmosphere and the fun, friendly folks who work there. I always look forward to my shampoo with Elizabeth, (it's sooo relaxing) and the styling from Michael is always perfect. My haircut has changed little, but I'm always happy and get many compliments! The salon is decorated beautifully for each season and is a welcome retreat for anyone. There are many services offered from manicures and massages to a great haircut and highlight. I highly recommend going to Salon Michael for that total spa experience. being a loyal client of rita's for a few years now, i have nothing but praise for her! i've seen several aestheticians over the years, and once i met rita, i stayed! waxing is never a pleasant experience, but rita is quick, precise, and considorate--she doesn't take half your face off when waxing your brows! i've also had facials from her with the same high satisfaction. you could have one done at 6pm and be ready for a night out by 8pm with no redness (tho exposure to environmental grossness is never a good idea right after a facial...it's just an example). she does a phenomenal job, gets results, is reasonably priced, and is a true sweetheart on top of it all! highly recommended!!! I have been a client at Salon Michael for about six months now. I've been to a handful of salons to get a brazilian wax, including one on Oak St. This salon is by far one of the best I've been in. The atmosphere is so cozy. Rita is wonderful. She's very professional and good at what she does! Thank you Salon Michael! :) I will continue to go to this salon. I am a recent graduate of cosmetology school and this is one salon that I would definately consider working in. more

I came to Salon Michael 10 years ago--tired of going to the ""hottest salons"" in the city. Paying too much and not getting the one on one attention I was looking for. I was introduced to Michael by a mutual friend. He insisted I come in for a ""visit"". Probably because my hair was looking scary! Overprocessed and poorly cut. After that first visit, I realized Michael was a truly gifted hairdresser. He gives a wonderful cut, that stays in shape for a while. His specialty is color. I can't tell you the hundreds of women I've witnessed come in with that ""color disaster"" and leave looking lavish. He nails the color suited to you. He is happy to provide input. Best of all, Michael is 100% focussed on you while you are in his chair. None of that, chatting, taking calls, letting another emplyee ""finish you up"". You feel special from the moment you walk through the door. Marcella greets you at the door. You feel immediately comfortable. Amy gives terrific manicures and Rita is one of the best esthiticians I've ever been to. I've had Crissy cut my hair there too, and she is terrific. The entire staff is great. I had my hair cut and styled by Chrissy. She was unbelievable! She helped me to figure out the most flattering look and I absolutely love it! I also had a brazilian wax by Rita. She was amazing. She made me feel so comfortable and the result is outstanding. I would definitely recommend this salon to anyone who wants a fantastic hair cut and wax. Michael, of Salon Michael has been doing my hair for 9 years. Before finding him, I had a couple of horrible experiences with hair stylists. I have never once left Salon Michael without being totally happy. I hear that Chrissy is great as well. My sister-in-law uses her when Michael is booked and she is great!\r \r Salon Michael has evolved into a full service spa including massage, facial, make-up,nail and waxing services. I have been going to Salon Michael for about 6 years now and I have NEVER been disappointed by the haircut I received or the service. Michael truly understands how to cut curly hair...and girls you know that not that many stylists know how to cut curly hair! Chrissy is also a great stylist and gives a good blow-out and actually all of the staff are knowledgable and friendly. \r \r I've had a couple of massages and facials at Salon Michael too and enjoyed them.
