When Jennifer Charm, NY Makeup Artist first opened her business in Los Angeles, she wanted a name that represented what she could help a woman achieve with both cosmetics & skin care, as well as a European name to reflected her training and influences. Not content with simply having another facial and waxing business, she furthered her education after receiving her California Aesthetician license in 1993. She took chemistry and ingredient classes with Rebecca James Gad bury at UCLA. She studied ethnic skincare with Betty Odem, the country’s leading Black educator in Aesthetics. She studied the relationship between pharmaceuticals, illness and skin care treatments with Rachel Furman, noted skin specialist and Pharmacist. She became certified in advanced chemical peels 1994. Jennifer is a Dianetics Therapist and works in her community as a Volunteer Minister giving lectures on improving Life’s conditions & helping the ill and infirmed with healing assists. Aware of the dangerous effects of drugs and toxins in the body after doing a detoxification program called The Purification Rundown, she set out to locate the best natural ingredients and product lines available that still created effects on the skin. Many lines call themselves “natural” because they contain an essential oil or two, but are made up of bases loaded with petro-chemicals (containing petroleum distillates), harsh preservatives, perfumes and dyes. She knows these programs to be essential to having a healthier, longer life. Carabella was the first salon in the North Valley to have a microdermabrasion machine & a pulsed LED light treatment machine. Carabella is a salon/spa where the skin care products reflect and harmonize with the body’s chemical make up, the Makeup Artist creates a complete line of cosmetics that are custom blended out of pure mineral powders tinted with natural iron oxides and the highly trained Aestheticians give facial treatments that combine the newest proven technologies with good old fashioned pampering in a luxurious spa setting.
