I've been to so many Aveda salons in the denver area, and i'm never happy anywhere i go!! Most salons people that work there are rude etc. etc. I found Salon aka on city search and I went in to get my hair done, and I am just blown away! Everyone is so nice and the atmosphere is great! I love the new area of southglenn it's really cute! But every person that works at the salon is friendly and they really care about what you want/need. Sitting in the salon I noticed that every stylist did a great job with their clients so there really isn't anyone in there that you wouldn't be happy with. I definately recommend this salon!! more

I have been all over denver it seems trying to get good color and came up short. I read the reviews about Sam and made an appointment. She was so easy to talk to and knew what I was looking for. I am just glad I now have somewhere to get my color and Brazilian Keratin treatment with no worries I am taken care of. Thanks city search for the help. more

I was referred into see Samantha at salon aka and had an amazing experience! She knew exactly what to do with my color i have never quite loved my color like this it was amazing. I also got the brazilain keratin treatment and felt so comfortable because she clearly is very experienced with both and knew everything i was asking about with my concerns!! Amanda suggested the Brazilian Keratin Treatment to control my ""fuzzy"" and ""big"" hair! She uses a formaldehyde free product that rocks!! I can't believe how straight and shiny my hair is! It is well worth it! more

When I moved to Denver (over two years ago) I was so lucky to find Sam- I am a very difficult person to please when it comes to my hair and I don't trust many people. I usually describe the look I am going for and she is able to offer creative suggestions and understand EXACTLY what I want done (this is a rare ability!). She has an amazing sense of style and works with your individual tastes. She is color goddess. I always come away feeling like a new woman! She is fun to talk to, cheerful, and energetic. \r \r Aka Salon has great atmosphere. Everyone at the salon is always super nice and you really feel pampered. I love all the Aveda products too. I have been seeing Samantha Flemming at Salon AKA for about a year now and she is the best! She is very professional, easy to talk to, and great at what she does. She knows what is best for every different type of hair. I always have fun when I go to get my hair done! I have had my hair colored, deep conditioned, and cut. So I have been going into this salon for a while now and have always gotten the best service and they are always friendly!(since day one) Also being a guy sometimes you are affraid to walk into a salon but not this one,they make you feel like very comfortable and don't look at you like what are you doing here!So the person that cuts my hair Is Brianne or Bre thats what some call her! She is one of the most detailed stylist ever or people ever.If you want to leave the salon with a perfect cut she will do it! She does not let people leave thinking I wish she would have does this different.She will make sure that your hair is just the way that you want it so you can go out in to the world being like ""I m ready"".You will not feel like man I need to go home and change or fix something about my hair! I am so excited that I found this salon!! It's definately Denver's best kept secret. I've seen Amanda a couple of times now, and I she's definately my new hairdresser!!! She's awesome at coloring and cutting, and she's very easy and fun to talk to. I felt like I could hang out there for a while. I also just had a new service called the Brazilian Keretin Treatment. This invention is amazing. I'ts kind of like a straightner, but without chemically changing your hair. My hair is super shiny, and doesn't have anymore fuzz!!! It lasts about 4 months! Erin is the BEST, BEST, BEST! I have hard to work with curly frizzy hair and after trying several salons in the Denver area, was introduced to Erin. I've been going to her for 8+ years now! She knows what to do with my hair and I always leave the salon with soft, shiny, sassy hair. Everyone asks where I get it done. She's cut, colored and relaxed my hair too many times to count. I always leave satisfied and know that if I am not I can come back and she will hook me up. The individual with the negative response either is talking about another salon or is in an alternate reality! As for the atmosphere, just as everyone previously stated....it's laid back and fun!!! more

Here's the thing. We all have hair issues. Too curly, too straight, too frizzy, too dark, light, you know the drill...Erin has been working her ""hair magic"" with cut and color on my baby fine, thin hair for longer than I can remember. It has always looked great, except for the crazy, cowlicky pieces near my bangs. Nothing to do about them since a relaxer would have fried them off. Enter this Brazilian Hair Magic Stuff. This stuff is a miracle!!! About 2 hours in Erin's chair left me with the shiniest, flattest (in a good way) healthiest head of hair I have ever had. Being light blond, it is difficult to have that shiny, swingy hair that our brunette counterparts have been blessed with. Traditionaly, blonds with fine, color treated hair have had NO options for straightening and this glassy, glossy fabulousness, but I am living proof that it can happen. I know that the product does wonderful things on other hair types as well, but since I have about the hardest hair to work on, that is the most impressive to me. Salon AKA specializes in color .. and does a fantastic job with cuts, thermal reconditioning, updos, etc. Erin has been my stylist for years and she keeps up with the latest techniques, along with her employees. You only have to dig a bit deeper to find this small, intimate, relaxing salon in Cherry Creek. What a find. It's not your over-hyped, pretentious salon that you see so frequently in that area, but a small, friendly salon that has excellent service, outstanding knowledge and value. I've always envied women who could easily style their hair without spending so much time doing it. After Amanda cut my hair, I was finally in that same category! She does an awesome job, and I'm constantly being asked who cuts my hair. As it grows, it's still easy to style. On top of that, she's also a color genius.
