Salish Lodge disappointed 12/19/2006

My husband and I stayed out a Salish Lodge for a weekend last spring and was disappointed with our experience. For the amount of money we spent, the experience was just mediocre. I have stayed in much nicer hotels/resorts for a lot less money and had better experiences. We had a couples hot stone massage which was good and had a nice room with a fire place and jacuzzi tub, but it just wasn't outstanding which is what we were expecting for the price. We ate dinner in the Attic which is the "lounge" and the food was totally average. Overall a disappointing way to spend a getaway. more

The perfect weekend getaway 2/11/2006

The only real issue with the place is that it is so close to Seattle, it can feel like a Microsoft convention. Usually when we go there, it feels like we know 1 out of 5 people who are there. Nevertheless, the location is amazing. For all of you old Twin Peaks fans, it is right there. The rooms are comfortable and you can walk down to the falls. The spa is terrific. They rebuilt the top floor and it is water paradise. The massages are great and the restaurant is very good. Folks rave about the Sunday Brunch and it is indeed a wonderful view and very nice (although I still think I make the better omelet ;-) Finally, if you are a bike rider, this is a perfect spot to start the day and take a ride through the countryside. It is getting less so with all the development in Snoqualmie, but still great fun. more

Very romantic and beautiful lodge 8/26/2005

This place is exceptionally expensive, but an amazing place to spend a romantic weekend. It has a wood burning fireplace in every room, a large jetted tub and a view of snoqualmie falls in many of the rooms. It also has a world class restaurant to get all 3 meals. Breakfast there is the best deal. Amazing food at "reasonable" prices. I also like it there because there are trails you can hike if you are so inclined(the snoqualmie one is very pretty and very easy). Also, as the title mentions, it has a spa (on the top floor) and you can get massages, or whatever. I personally just used the whirlpools that are publicly available and had a nice view and cool little fake waterfall. If you want something extraordinary, this could be the place to go. Oh, and its about 30 mins outside of Seattle. more

Rustic Luxury 8/18/2005

Forget that the outside of the Salish was in Twin Peaks and don't look for those rooms on the inside because that was a different hotel all together. Instead, focus on the fact that there is no better place to relax and unwind in the Snoqualmie Valley, if anywhere in Washington, than the Salish Lodge. Like any world-class hotel the staff and facilities are immaculate. Every detail has been arranged. Start your stay in the attic bar before dinner on the patio overlooking Snoqualmie Falls. If you're lucky (and perhaps rich) you'll have reserved the fourth floor parlor suite. It's a monsterous space with a private deck and vaulted ceilings. The huge soaking tub can be opened up to the rest of the suite and you can have in-room massages in front of the fireplace. Even if it's just for one night it's a must. If you're into the whole spa thing make arrangements to visit their facilities. They offer all the usual stuff including a hot stone massage that's great and they have a special table for pregnant women that allows late-term ladies to lie face down while still supporting the belly. WOW. more

Asian-themed spa makes an excellent retreat in the moutains 8/17/2005

This somewhat remote spa is part of the larger Salish Lodge complex overlooking Snoqualmie Falls. For folks old enough to remember the opening shots in "Twin Peaks", this is that hotel. The Spa itself is a little small, but it has a lovely, Asian theme, complete with a hot spa area where you can go and wait between treatments. I had a facial (the best facial I've EVER had) and a European massage here, and it was a truly peaceful, relaxing experience. If you can possibly combine it with an overnight stay in the Lodge itself, you'd probably walk away completely renewed. Parking is somewhat cumbersome during the spring/summer months due to the Lodge's proximity to the Falls, and the valet service is a little snooty, but these small trials are well worth the Spa. more

Your dream Getaway lodge & spa... 7/19/2005

Located in the wonderful and peaceful city of Snoqualmie right next to the Snoqualmie Falls, this lodge and spa will give you a definite relaxation. Their rooms are luxurious accomodating a wonderfully large and soft bed, television with lots of channels, and a huge balcony that opens to a beautiful view. The best part (in my opinion) are their huge jetted jacuzzi's that come with every room. While you're sitting and enjoying your bath with a glass of champagne, you can open up your view by simply pushing open the french windows from the jacuzzi. They also have a seperate room on your floor that is open to all residents staying there where you can go take a swim, sit in their sauna, or get a relaxing sensual massage. This is a great & romantic getaway that will leave you with an unforgetable experience and lots of memories! more
