Salang Pass is a good restaurant, but for that price, you can actually treat yourself to a better restaurant close by which is called Bijan Restaurant which is a persian restaurant with ariety of zaferon spiced specialty kabobs, rice, and bellly dancers on saturday nights. you won't be sorry to make this change. more

Salang Pass Restaurant 3/6/2006

This restaurant changed hands. The prices have increased and the food is not as good as before. Still, there are not a large number of Afghani restaurants in the Bay Area. So it is fun always to try something new. The seating is both conventional and on cushions on the floor. The decor is nice. Service can vary if they are busy. more

Their food is excellent 8/31/2005

When I lived in Santa Cruz, my friends and I would drive up to 3 hours from different locations just to meet and eat at this restaurant, it is that good. more

Good food 8/21/2005

The restaurant place is very nicely decorated and food is good but pricey. Service is very very bad. If you are willing to get your own menus and get two visits from the waiter (one to take your order and one for the bill) then it's not a bad place. more

Nice place 8/5/2005

This restaurant has been around for years. The food is excellent and the service is exceptional. The place has a lower sitting, without chairs. The cushions give an informal effect and the lighting is soothing.. Do enjoy the "bulani" if you go there. The restaurant is not too pricey and is a good place to visit once in a while. more
