Sakura Sushi is so-so 8/26/2009

I would say it's ok. Not from around the area, I was actually heading out to get lunch somewhere around the Office Depot location on Willow and thinking that sushi should be good in this town. However, if I had read the other reviews first, I would have chosen better.\r \r I had the two item combination for lunch. My teriyaki salmon and spicy tuna roll came with miso soup, salad and steamed rice. While the thin slice of salmon was good and I liked the vinaigrette dressing on the salad, the tuna roll was weirdly too spicy for my taste. The combo meal cost $7.95, which I didn't think was too pricey, but I got a little worried when I realized the sign on the cashier counter that states a $10 minimum is required for credit card purchases and I waned to pay the tab with my AmEx. Thankfully, the nice waitresses decided it wasn't a problem, and with tip, I was over $10 anyway.\r \r I was amused at the Misty May, Olympic Gold Medalist in volleyball, autographed Mikasa poster that hung amongst Japanese artwork and a photo of Mt. Fuji. Overall, though, I wish my company had bought me a better lunch on this business trip. :) Pros: nice waitresses Cons: not as nice sushi more

Great local sushi spot 2/29/2008

I have had the good fortune to sample sushi in a lot of places (including Osaka, Japan), and Sakura is my favorite local sushi place. It's clean and usually has no wait. The staff are super-friendly and attentive. They are very accommodating of kids. And best of all, the food is great! I don't eat meat other than fish, so I can't comment on the entrees, but the sushi is really very good. I particularly like the veggie tempura roll and the crunch dragon roll...tasty and unique. I have never been disappointed, and we eat there a lot. Can't go wrong! Pros: Great sushi, kid-friendly, attentive & friendly staff, reasonable prices Cons: TV's can be distracting more
