love the sushi and service! 4/5/2008

I love this place. I always order the california rolls, and the kiska rolls. I could eat here everyday! The price is right (although I would pay a lot more for this!) the service is excellent, and the food is delicious! I wish they had a restaurant closer to ferry st. bridge, but campus is ok,too! I highly recommend it! I will be back! This is the best sushi in town! I also will often call in and order to-go. Pros: great food, great service, great prices...love to call in and take-out! Super fast to your table Cons: location ( i don't love driving to campus) more

It's Okay to Settle 3/18/2008

I will have to disagree with the previous reviewers. Now, I will agree that their miso soup is no where close to being up to par. However, the sushi is decent. You just have to know which rolls to order. I don't like the ingredients they use in some of their rolls but there are much better rolls if you know what to get. I could never go there now and not get their Sakura Roll. I highly recommend it. Their sake nigiri isn't bad either. During lunch time, you have to get your own food and bus your own table but it's nothing worth minding. At dinner time, they serve you at your table. The service there wasn't bad. If I needed something, I was able to get a hold of a waitress within minutes. They are attentive. Sure, the sushi could be more fresh but for broke college students like me with no car, a sushi place like Sakura close to campus is something to be grateful for. Just don't get their bento or miso. Otherwise, their sushi will satisfy your craving when you don't have a better alternative. Pros: Selection Cons: Limited Parking more

lackluster sushi and lousy service 7/23/2007

Our experience here started out bad and got worse. We requested to sit at their outside seating and they brought our food to us in plastic bags and styrofoam take out boxes. That would have been ok except the sushi rolls were skimpy and the miso soup tasted like plain vegetable broth. Stay away from the macaroni salad as well, unless you like warm sticky mayonaise. I wouldn't recommend this place even if you are on a budget. Pros: location Cons: awful food more

Get What You Pay For 12/12/2005

The sushi and japanese food is inexpensive here and has a lot of deals, but as a sushi lover with high standards I cannot justify going here frequently. The sushi tastes as if they're leftovers, the unagi-don is heated up eel out of the package, and the katsu was limp, soggily breaded. At least the service is good and the interior isn't so bad for being among the campus businesses, but the food could use a lot of help. Only recommended if you crave Japanese food for less than $10. Pros: Inexpensive, Service Cons: Parking, Food more
