Although Saint Alps is owned by Hong Kong people, they do serve some good Taiwanese bubble tea and Tea snacks as well as a few Taiwanese dishes.
I have always liked their bubble tea and it is one of the best in East Village. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I tried their food the first time. We got the fried pork chop over rice, fried chicken over rice and curry beef with green tea noodles.
The pork chop has good seasoning and it is crispy and tender. It is still not as good as Hua Ji Pork Chop down in Chinatown but good enough for a Tea House. The same goes for the Fried Chicken. The green tea noodles on the other hand, was an interesting concept and I actually really like the curry sauce a lot.
Now that I know they have decent and inexpensive Taiwanese food right in East Village, I can come back whenever I get home sick!
