Bad experience, waste of money. 11/22/2011

The first thing I noticed about this restaurant was the fact that it look a long time to get our food after we had ordered. When the food finally arrived, it was cold, uncooked, and the portions were very small. more

we love it 8/27/2010

Our family has been eating there for well over 10 years. They have the best spring rolls in town. We dine in and take out depending. We have only has one bad experience there and it was due to a server shortage but that was the only time. more

Our favorite eating haunt! 7/23/2010

This is our favorite place to come on a regular basis. We're happy it seems to be a well kept secret except for us 'regulars'! There's not much ambience but, the prices are right and the food is delicious. Service has always been attentive. I would especially recommend two items: the lemongrass chicken (with onions) and the beef curry (with potatoes). The beef curry is spicy enough but we ask them to make the lemongrass chicken a little more spicy. Many folks enjoy the Vietnamese egg rolls (fried) or the spring rolls as an appetizer. Both come with a healthy side plate of veggies (lettuce, mint, cilantro, carrots, etc). Ask for the peanut sauce (instead of the sauce they normally give you) if you order the egg rolls. This restaurant is absolutely great (but don't tell anyone!!!). Pros: Spring rolls, pho, bun Cons: ambience more

Best Vietnamese in Colorado Springs 2/4/2008

If you're looking for an ambient, trendy Asian restaurant, this may not be your place, but if you are looking for great Vietnamese food, look no further. Saigon Springs has the best Vietnamese you can get in Colorado Springs. Falling in love with Vietnamese food in Vietnam, the food here is authentic and the menu is enormous. I would highly recommend the curries, pho, goi cuon, and Mi Xao Dong. We frequently bring guests who are from Asia to this restaurant and it has never failed us. If you do on a weekday for lunch, be prepared to wait. Pros: large menu and great food Cons: barbie collection is a little creepy more

Good Vietnamese Comfort Food 2/7/2003

Saigon Springs was the first of several Vietnamese restaurants visited (5 in the Springs and 1 in Grand Junction). It compares to about the same as all the others- fair prices, huge portions, tasty meals, and authentic. All are owned, managed, or worked by Vietnamese. Dont expect the best service or atmosphere in any of these places, but the people are friendly and try hard to please you. Definitely get the Pho Tai on a cold winters night (large soup of rice noodles, beef, cilantro, onions, wedge of lime, and beef broth. Or if youre with three or more, get the appetizer mood going with the spring rolls that you have to make by yourself (served with rice paper, variety of meats and veggies, about $9.00). Overall, this place is good enough as Vietnamese restaurants go. Pros: big portions, inexpensive, friendly Cons: service is scattered more

A bad experience 10/18/2002

I came across previous reader's rating (10!) and had really expected my dining experience there. As it turned out, almost everything he said is simply not true. Yes, the price is ok, but the lighting is dim, smell is bad, and service is lousy. I waited for about 15 mins to have someone take my order, and the waitress never showed up except serving the dish and bringing the check. As for food, I don't feel it very authentic, either, comparing to my previous dining experiences in Vietnamese resturants in Denver. Overall, I consider it an aweful experience and would not revisit it in the future. more
