Best and most caring veterinarian I've ever met 12/26/2014

Dr. Sagartz has taken the best care of our family cats and dog. His superior knowledge and clinical skills are amazing. And we all love seeing him, especially our pets. Our rescue Bichon looks up at him with such loving eyes, that she doesn't even seem to notice her injections. We all love him and appreciate his professionalism. more

Dr. Sagartz killed my dog 7/18/2011

My dog died at the hands of Dr. Sagartz, who appears to be just like any number of vets who put money ahead of care. My dog had a cyst or tumor under the skin. He was 18 years old. The cyst/tumor ruptured several nights ago - 7/4 - and was bleeding. Couldn't stop it myself - there was a big hole from the rupture - so I took him to the emergency near me, which was McClave. They put in one stitch, sent me home with no E collar, no protection on the wound. It failed on 7/9, and I went BACK to McClave. This time they put in 2 stitches, but no E collar, no covering. He chewed the stitches off in one day, bleeding started again. Went a THIRD time to McClave, at 4AM on 7/10, and this time an older doc REALLY stitched it up, sent me home with E collar and the cyst/tumor stopped bleeding, the stitches held and it was scabbing over. NOW, the first two docs INSISTED that, "This needs to be excised. It's the only solution", which was nonsense. YES, to permanently get rid of it, surgery was the answer. But is it the answer for an 18-19 year-old dog? I would leave that up to my regular vet, Dr. Martin at Parkview. ONLY DOC MARTIN RETIRED COUPLA WEEKS GO!!! So, I go anyway and see the vet who bought the practice. Now, I just want to keep the bleeding stopped. The last set of stitches have been doing the job, and the new guy at Parkview, Dr. Sagartz, is probing it, squeezing it...and nothing is oozing out, the stitches hold. BUT, he says, it should come off, and he can do it without general anesthesia and just use a local. Besides, he says, my boy is a "good boy" and should be able to handle it, which I guess he surmised by my dog's silence when he was probing the stitches already there. AND, lucky me, Dr. Sagartz happens to have a break so he can do the surgery right now, and I should come back in an hour or so. I do. My dog is handed to me with a huge, stitched wound, and I just knew...He was dead in under 3 days. Dr. Sagartz saw a chance to make a quick few hundred bucks on a break. It cost me my dog. more

He moved to ParkView Pet Clinic in Glendale, CA 2/17/2011

He is the most amazing and caring vet I've ever been to! My doctor doesn't about me the way Dr. Sagartz cares about our pets. I rescued a puppy from the shelter and he was so sick. Dr. Sagarts went out of his way to call me and check up on my puppy few times to make sure he was doing ok. He hurried me to another emergency pet clinic so he could get better x rays and ultra sound. When we adopted our dog from the pound we were told he was healthy, but Dr. Sagartz noticed he had something stuck in his tummy thats why he was crying and he had several other illnesses. Dr. Sagartz, if I was super rich, I would buy you a huge pet clinic, pay you enough money for you to treat all the pets for free! You're such an angel for saving our puppys life. Reese's says Hi and he loves you very much! :) more

Great Vet!!! 10/1/2008

I just took my dog to Anaheim Hills Pet Clinic and Dr. Sagartz was filling in for my regular vet. I thought he was an excellent vet and that is how I found this web site. You may want to call to see if they can let you know where he is working. 714-779-2101 more

Best vet ever! 7/6/2007

I have been going to Dr. Sagartz for 14 years and was very disappointed that he left and can't wait for him to land somewhere SOON! He is the most compassionate and caring vet that we ever had and actually extended the life of my cat Tiger (18 years old) for another 5+ years after Sagartz found him to have heart problems that was easily taken care of with a pill once a day! He found another cat ( Baby Kitty) to have medical problems that if not treated would have taken her life . She's now 17! .........and lets not even get into the animals that he saved from accidents out front, strays ets..... HURRY UP AND GET ANOTHER PRACTICE! ( take Patty with you too!) Top Notch 12/9/2006

Dr. Sagartz saved my kitty with more than what could be expected care and skill. But he has left the clinic on Grand Ave. in Santa Ana. Anyone know where he landed? more
