I had done many searches and reading reviews for Japanese steak houses and Sushi bars in the Sarasota area, this had the best reviews, This place is the ONLY place I will ever go to again for this style of food!. My experience there was top notch, Not ONE negative abut this place. I was so impressed when I went last Sunday Night for dinner with some out of town family, I had been there 3 more times in the same week! The tempura is something out of this world! The best I have ever had. The Hostess and Wait staff are also fun, friendly and will help you learn a few Japanese words! I love it, and am going for my 5th time in an 8 day period. I'm not crazy, but am crazy abou the food! Max the owner is the best! more

One of the best Teppan Yaki 3/15/2006

My favorite place to eat Teppan Yaki (Japanese style bbq cooked in front of you with the chef providing a cooking ""show"" besides you can order sushi on the side). The fried rice, the meat/seafood, the soup, the vegetables, ... basically everything is cooked to perfection ... It tastes right and just perfect! I recommend making a reservation, but be on time because they are mostly are on time with their reservation too =) The only drawback I could think of is the pricing is slightly higher than Jo-To but comparing the quality and the taste of the food I think it is still worth to go. more
