Saddlebrook Equestrian Ctr

My wife and I have boarded our horses at Saddlebrook Equestrian Center for the past 2 years. We moved to the area 2 years ago from out of state where we had a ranch and a top notch training facility of our own. We were extremely discriminating when looking for a facility to house our highly trained and quite expensive horses. We decided on Saddlebrook as we found the facility to be immaculate, the horses well cared for, the amenities outstanding but most importantly because Rose and Ashley welcomed us with open arms! They have treated us like family ever since. We have asked much of Rose and Ashley over the last 2 years as keeping our horses tuned up requires much of where they live and train. Honestly speaking, we are somewhat pain in the behind boarders and never once has Rose or Ashley done anything but work with us to accommodate our needs. It's real tough to make it in the horse business, I know first hand as I have invested hundreds of thousands of dollars in top quality livestock and training over the last 30 years. I have deep respect and regard for Rose as a business woman and proprietor of Saddlebrook which she has kept thriving for a long time!. Rose runs a tight ship in an effort to provide the best possible experience for her clients be they boarders or the eager young ladies who come through there hoping to experience true horsemanship plus develop their skills which is as much a commitment for the riders as it is for the parents. Between my wife and I, we have over 65 years of breeding, training and competition experience at all levels, I am so very pleasantly relieved to say without reservation that I know at all times my horses are safe, sound and very well cared for living at Saddlebrook! My wife and I sincerely enjoy every moment we are there (which is a heck of lot of time). Thank you Rose and Ashley, we appreciate all you do! more

I did not try Saddlebrook until recently because of reading these negative reviews and that should teach me to not take online anonymous reviews as the truth. Saddlebrook's facilities are clean and well kept. The horses I have ridden so far have plenty of flesh and are in good condition. My instructor is kind, positive and very in tune to her horses. The tack is clean and in very good shape. The owner Rose is pleasant and professional. Anyone referring to her only being interested in money might remember she's running a business and it's very hard to turn a profit with horses. If you want cheap, then you probably don't want to be involved with horses. Do not let these personal grudge reviews keep you from visiting and seeing for yourself. more

All the owner Rose is interested in is money, runs a crappy place, knows nothing about horses, and is constantly looking for a deal. Hey and dont let her get a hold of ur personal number cuz she will call all hours of the day and night with her pathetic needs. Has no respect or boundaries and crosses the line between business and personal. Lady get a life really, and start taking some pride in ur business and reputation. Ur an old bag that no one is interested in, so go find someone else to bother. more

The owner of the barn is completely clueless to everything, a horse was standing in his stall with obvious signs of colic and he was thin(about a BS of 3 and a half or 4) with obvious saddle marks on him and just was so unhealthy looking and she said the horse was fine. They've sold lame horses to friends of mine, they also sold a very very VERY dangerous horse to a former student and this horse nearly killed her at a competition before she came to me for instruction. They wound up having to give the horse back (after A LOT of arguing) and it's just not a very nice place to ride. Dirty, poor pasture(the hay doesn't offer much replacement since it's been stored for awhile) and all around I'd have to say this isn't the nicest place to be. more

I have been at Saddlebrook for 5 years. I am an experience rider and could ride at any barn but I have chosen Saddlebrook. more

I took a tour of this farm late spring of last year. While the girl who showed me around was very nice and eager to answer all of my questions, she lacked information on the simple things like what specific grain they use and type of hay they provide. Mind you this was a planned tour - the wash stall was full with manure, the indoor had a deep rut around the outside track, the stalls were being cleaned and cleaned thoroughly, but they park a truck in the center of the aisle way to do so, making it inconvenient to anyone in the barn and putting harmful gas fumes in the horses if left in the stalls for the day. From what I could see the fields offer minimal nutrition forage wise although I was told the farm does provide free choice square bails. This is a very busy lesson barn. The instructors had biographies posted and seem young and just getting their feet wet with teaching/riding, so training available would not support that of the seasoned competitor. There is also no paper contract. Big warning sign in my eyes. more

Saddlebrook Stables offers minimal care for your horse and will nickel and dime you through every twist and turn. It is understood throughout the local community of horse enthusiasts that this facility knowingly sells lame horses and the owner of the operation is clueless. Individualized care for your horse is all but absent. The owner of the facility would like to run the farm as a dictatorship and will make decisions for the owner of a horse without even attempting to contact them. BIG NO NO. Horses around the property look malnourished and unattended to. Pros: Good location Cons: Uneducated management and staff, ill cared for horses. more
