A nightmare of a hospital to give birth in 10/20/2005

Not only do they move you into different rooms at every phase, making it terribly hard to have visitors and support persons present, the staff is downright rude and the doctors are careless and oblivious. And the icing on the cake is - the food is terrible (but there is a Bread Company across the street and a few restaurants down the road a bit). more

Try to Avoid this Hospital 8/18/2005

I hate to say bad things about any medical facility because I know that many doctors and nurses are terrificly overworked, but this is one hospital in St. Louis that you should avoid. My wife delivered our first child there and the experience was nightmarish. The facility was dirty and antiquated and the nurses were not very helpful or compassionate. Our subsequent experience at Missouri Baptist was much, much better. Also, I went to the emergency room with a bad leg injury. After X-rays and a full examination, I was sent home with a "bruise." After a few weeks of continuing pain, I saw a specialist who requested the X-rays, when he got the packet, the X-rays in my folder were of someone else's arm. To top it all off, when he took new X-rays he discovered that I had a broken leg. Try to avoid St. Mary's if at all possible. more
