SKIN Medical Spa

I dropped a nice bit of cash at this place. Probably more than I had to spend, but the good doc was personable and provided a very thorough explanation of his recommendations based on what I stated were my concerns. The procedure hurt like a mother, but I wanted to treat myself. I am not new to office procedure such as these (botox, fillers) and I've been looking for a place to keep returning back to, especially if I got good results and trusted the place not to just want to make a buck. Unfortunately, I cannot help but feel that this place was desperate for my money because I'm ready to go back for more (but not from this place!). The botox must be completely watered down or something because the lines in my forehead are coming back quickly, and mind you, I'm not a novice. I'm not a fan of a paralyzed face, and the ability to allow animation while targeting those wrinkles is certainly an art. I'm disappointed because I really wanted to like this place and work with them together to help me age gracefully without the knife. The facial did nothing more than I could have done at home. When i got home, I finished all of the extractions that were left behind. What did she do anyway?? They sold me a product that was $$ and wrong for my face, yet wouldn't stand behind it when I brought it to their attention. Bottom line, very disappointing. I can't believe they would do this knowing I am a customer who will come back. Instead, I will pay some other place to do what I hoped to get from Skin Med Spa. Give me good service, results and honesty, and I would have been a loyal customer with a credit card. While SKIN is nicely decorated I did not find staff friendly or professional. Beyond that the nurse stated that her services were more expensive than one of the most esteemed dermatologists in the city because she came from LA where they got away with charging more. Thus at least for injectables and botox, go to Dr. Matarasso. Pros: nice office Cons: unfriendly staff and overpriced. more

I went to Skn spa for botox treatment. I was impressed with the very nice, clean office. The doctor was very professional and knowledgeable. I was also impressed by the prices they quoted me. Much lower than I was prepared to pay. I will be going back and cannot say enough good things about it! more

I went to SKIN Medical Spa for laser removal on my full legs, underarms & bikini.. I will have my last treatment for my full legs very soon and I can not be more happy with my results. Underarms & bikini I only had 2 treatments so it is very early to say anything, but I have very high hopes. I just wished I found this Spa sooner. It is worth every $$$. SKIN is the best in every category. The office is clean and beautiful. The staff is friendly and helpful. The treatments are as pain free as possible and I feel that I am in good medical hands. I am so thrilled with my laser hair removal! I have done bikini and underarms and it is awesome. I no longer worry about wearing a tank top or bathing suit and having shadow or forgetting to shave. I visited the spa for laser hair removal, bikini and underarms. I was mostly concerned about hyperpigmentation since I have olive skin. I am almost done with the treatments, 2 more left. And have been very satisfied. I like that the treatment is relatively pain free. I think it was less painful then a wax. I am just sad I waited so long to get it done. There aren't very many dr's appointments that I look forward to, but SKIN Medical Spa is just that great. From the first time I walked in the door the staff made me feel so comfortable and even pampered, and not just some of the staff, every single person. It's a delightful experience despite the less than delightful concerns that brought me here. Struggling with adult acne has made me less confident and very self-conscious, so the pleasant staff put me at ease right away. They were fantastic at explaining all my options and going over in detail the pros and cons to each as well as answering all my questions (and I had plenty). I have been extremely pleased with the level of care, professionalism and knowledge at SKIN as well as the beautiful office and excellent service. I would highly recommend them to others. more

I am very pleased with my experience, and would recommend SKN spa to all my friends and family. I contacted SKN/Dr. Colvin because I have always had adult acne and skin discoloration, I wanted my skin to look nice for my upcoming wedding. Imagine how pleased I was when over the period of 5 months, my skin was visibly transformed. Now, I don't wear makeup, so many friends and co-workers tell me my skin is ""glowing, smooth and clear"". Dr. Colvin and his staff are personable and professional, they immediately put me at ease. I never felt like ""just another client"". I had a complimentary consultation (unheard of) at SKN with the medical staff (Dr. Colvin, nurse, medical esthetician) . I was told what my options were and never felt overhwhelmed with information, pressured to buy anything or pressured to book an appointment. Everyone was so nice and knowlegeable. I have since booked an appointment, but really appreciated the professionalism of the entire staff during my first visit. If you want a humdrum impersonal experience with a distracted employee then I recommend going to a hotel spa. If you are looking to have your skin transformed by an entire staff who actually cares about your results, look no further than SKN Medical Spa. Valerie is an articulate, personable and well seasoned professional who puts you at ease the moment you sit down. Dr. Rob, Katie and the rest of the staff are phenomenal, accommodating and sincere. I have never felt like ""just another client/customer"". In fact the entire staff knew who I was when I arrived for my second appointment. How many places can you say that about? I have had IPL, deep poor and chemical peel treatments and couldn't be happier with my results. The first time I went to SKN, for a consult, I was almost in tears I was so unhappy with my skin (adult acne). Now I am proud to say with the regimen Dr. Rob and Valerie have me following I don't feel like I have to cover my face with make-up, my hair or ""strategically place my hands"" to cover embarrassing blemishes. I have gotten facials on cruise ships, lovely spas and throughout Europe and nothing compares to the medical deep pore facial I got with Valerie. She went far beyond any other facial I have ever gotten with her knowledge, sonic deep pore cleanser, diamond microbrasion, extractions and healing masque. My skin has never been so squeaky clean- ever! She is very personable, professional, and I felt like she really cared about my needs and making my treatment the very best. Whenever I come back to SF I am booking another facial with Valerie. She really is amazing! I have to say I was quite pleased when I entered SKN. I was greeted with a smile and immediately catered to. The front reception staff were friendly and efficient. Both Katie and Dr. Colvin are very nice. Great environment. I had a wonderful, thorough skin consultation with Valerie the Esthetician, and immediately decided to book an appointment to come back and see her. Not only did I walk away with a clear understanding with information of what would work best for my skin, I truly felt that I was in good hands. SKN rocks!!! I went to SKN because in the past, I'd had (large) clogged pores, hyperpigmentation and very oily skin. I've had several deep pore cleansing treatments and peels at SKN with Valerie, the Esthetician, and my skin has never looked better. Valerie is very professional and incredibly knowledgeable about skin disorders and skincare. She has never bruised my skin while doing extractions and I enjoy every treatment. She calls me after each treatment, has recommended an excellent skincare regimen and has really taken the time to address all of my skincare concerns. She's the best! SKN is great, and the best thing about it, IMO, is their Nurse Practitioner Sandy. She was was so professional, made me feel at ease, and did a great job with my treatment today. I will be going back to see her for a few more treatments - I can't believe all the great things that can be done to improve my appearance and confidence! I saw a general theme in the reviews I read about SKN Mediacl Spa before I made my first appointment. It seemed like several individuals had been coping with skin conditions for quite some time and had achieved success from their treatments and services at SKN. I made an appointment for a consultation. Dr. Colvin was great in educating me about the options that were available to me. Let me just say that I had sought medical help 15 years ago and had been told that there was really nothing to be done for my adult acne. Now, after one week of following Dr. Colvin's treatment my skin looks clearer than it ever has and I'm in my 50's. My family and friends all notice a marked improvement in my skin and I haven't even started the main part of his treatment. If your story sounds similar don't wait any longer. SKN offers the same treatments as many other clinics and spas, but you can be sure that at SKN you will get consistently good results from procedures that are appropriate for you, executed by a talented doctor using superior products in a clean, serene environment . Dr, Colvin's work is clearly working, because even though I modeled in Paris 15 long years ago, I can use the same photo portfolio. I'm still active in various facets of the entertainment world and wouldn't trust my skin to just any spa. Robb is pleasant, patient, very knowledgeable and informative, a good troubleshooter, and respectful of my budget. He understands the limitations of products and treatments and is realistic when answering questions. more
