An incredible training device for every pilot. I would highly recommend this simulator for those who wish to hone their flying skills, VFR & IFR procedures, emergency procedures to include stalls and spins. As a commercial airline pilot who has been flying for almost 40 years-- this simulator is worth every penny spent on the training. Considering the valuable training you receive- the cost per hour is a bargain. This simulator fills a long-time void in the General Aviation world, and the flying public will benefit from it's use. more

Its Time For Lift Off 12/13/2010

Full motion Simulator, J-3 Cub Training (stick & rudder), Cessna 172, and rumor has it they may bring on a cessna 310 for twin training. Great place for all of your aviation training. more

Have some fun! 12/10/2010

I have been enjoying my time with Safety in Motion. I am a student pilot with low hours, but everyone has to start somewhere. Everyone here has been very professional and courteous. All of my questions have been answered in a very timely manor and I am always looking forward to my next time up! more

Safety in motion is a new flight training business on the pierce county airport. They have very clean facilities and a professional staff. Sim flight center utilizes the latest technology to include a redbird full motion flight simulator and a variety of aircraft to provide a realistic training experience. I would highly recommend them to anyone at any level. more

  • We are a brand new flight training and aviation services business located at Pierce County Airport / Thun Field. Our mission is to provide quality flight training to the South Puget Sound. We are currently the only operator of the Redbird FMX 1000 (a full motion flight simulator) in the State of Washington that is open to the public. The Redbird FMX allows the students to keep progressing in their training without the risks of being "Weathered-out". This allows the consistency that is needed to complete your flight ratings without interruption.

    The advanced technology that we use is also balanced with the introduction of our 1939 J3 Cub. We have not forgotten about the importance to teach a pilot "stick and rudder" skills, and the Cub is the perfect airplane for just that.

    We have just added a Cessna 172 and a Piper J3 Cub to our rental and instructional fleet!
