Live Well. Every Moment Matters

Owner Message
  • Since 1980, Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter has served patients and their families throughout southeastern North Carolina. We serve more than 4,500 patients each year in our hospice and palliative care programs.

Our services are available in Bladen, Brunswick, Columbus, New Hanover, Pender and Onslow counties in North Carolina. In South Carolina, our services are available in Horry, Georgetown and Marion counties.

Most hospice patients are served where they live - in their homes, hospitals, assisted living facilities, and nursing homes. For those whose needs cannot be met at home, we offer three inpatient hospice facilities where patients receive round-the-clock, short-term medical and respite care.

Our palliative care consultation service works with patients and their physicians to improve quality of life, identify and aggressively treat symptoms, clarify a patient's condition and prognosis, and set achievable goals that honor a patient's wishes.

At this time, the palliative care team serves patients in New Hanover and Pender counties at three hospitals and in contracted nursing homes. Patients are also served in their homes throughout New Hanover County and most of Pender County.

For people who need help in dealing with their grief, support services for adults are available to everyone in the community, including family members of hospice patients. Sunrise Kids offers in-school and after-school programs, individual counseling, and summer camps for grieving children.

If you are interested in educational presentations, seminars, and conferences on end-of-life care topics, we can help. If you have questions on advance directives (living wills and healthcare power of attorney forms) or help identifying and choosing healthcare choices, assistance is a phone call away. Call us at 800-207.6908.

Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter provides palliative medical care and supportive services that are reasonable and necessary to meet the physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs of patients and their families which are experienced during the final stages of terminal illness and during bereavement (13 months). All services are provided without regard of race, color, national origin, age, sex, sexual orientation, diagnosis/infectious disease, religious beliefs, disability, ability to pay and resuscitation status.
