Rusty Duck

Nothing here to brag about. You'll need plenty of time so you can get waited on, a thick billfold to pay for it and nothing you can't find better somewhere else. Owner is a piece of work...... more

We have been going to the Rusty Duck at least once a month for the past couple years. The Hubby always gets the Ribeye which he indicates is the best in the state. A bit pricy for small town but it is good. The menu selection and drinks are good and the service is great. If I get the pasta or grilled chicken I always have to take half of it home. Remember, if going on a week-end you will want to call ahead or be prepared to wait. more

We went to the Rusty Duck because we wanted to try the #1 voted Burger in Iowa so we went on a Sat Night and made reservations for 8:15- but still had to wait about 15 minutes to get seated. Then after we alreaqdy ordered our drinks and appetizers were we told they were out of all burgers and Homie fries. We were heartbroken to say the least then I had to over hear the waitress say they couldn't sell more hamburgers until they sold more steaks...BTW the special was a Ribeye with Spinach for $28.99! Then we got the onion rings which were good but dripping with grease that was pooling on the plate and dripping down our hands. We finally decided on the pork tenderloin which came out so Thick and Tough that I could not bite into it and had to use a fork and Knife, and it was also very greasy- the grease turned the bottom of the bun into a soggy mess. The next day I posted a complaint on the Rusty Duck wall and the owners response was to come back only on Tues- Thurs- which I thought was ridiculous. The total cost for 2 pork tenderloins and onion rings with 1 soda and i beer was $38.67 then not to mention that it took over 1 hour round-trip from WDSM...so unless you want to spend a lot of money for something that you can get at the local Casey's and then you also have 2.4 hours to waste on a weeknight... then I say go to the Rusty Duck. more

We ate dinner at the Rusty Duck in Dexter.The food was better than Great. The home made onion rings were out standing. This is the first time i had to ask for a doggy bag. I could not eat it all, and I can eat alot. The Rusty Duck is worth the money on a night out. But get there after 5pm. more
