pastrami sandwich - way too much mustard (dripping out into the wrapping). The meat was not fatty but did not have a lot of flavor. Pros: close to a very busy farmer's market...

The food is overrated and the kitchen is filthy. The owner/ host is rude and a total dirt bag was extremely rude to me and my family. Would never go back. Avoid this place more

AVOID at all costs ! SLOW SERVICE and terrible food 10/19/2008

I went on a saturday morning before going shopping at the eastern market ! my thought was ? WHY do people come here ??? this Place has terrible service ! the food was slow and Not even Standard fare ??? Pros: none ! WHAT SO EVER ! Five of us ate breakfast yesterday at Russell Street and we had a great time. The service was terrific (very friendly and attentive), the food was good and the atmosphere was really fun. It's VERY popular and lines form early on Saturdays, so expect a long wait unless you're near the head of the line. Pros: Great service, fun atmosphere and good food Cons: Long wait more

Best corned beef I have ever had 10/13/2006

Corned Beef fans listen up this is the best and leanest corned beef you will find in the Detroit metro area. Try it on sourdough with horsradish to taste or in your omelette with cheese and mushrooms, it's the best! Speaking of omelettes try the smoked sausage and cheese, you won't be disappointed. Home made soups made from stratch, I can honestly say I have never ordered anything at the Russell street deli that I didn't like. The line out the door says it all. It's definitely worth the wait! Pros: Quality of food and service Cons: It is small and since it is so good there is always a wait more

Downtown Deli Treat (DDT) 8/14/2002

I visit the Russell Street Deli every Saturday that I can. The scrambled and omellete specials are alway tantilize the tastebuds and inspire the imagination. Sometimes, there just downright cute! Like Green Eggs & Ham. I have fun with this one everytime. Anyway, there is usually great conversation to be had with your tablematess as well. Although not required, the right mix and you've got yourself a down right memorable moment. If you've never tried it, stop denying yourself this small pleasure.
