The Tragedy of the Commons 9/22/2011

Stephen Metcalfe has chosen the critically acclaimed Ruskin Group Theatre to launch the Los Angeles premiere of his play The Tragedy of the Commons. In the established routines of daily life, change is never welcome. Yet most people bend to accommodate it. Some cannot. Dakin and Macy Adams live seemingly serene lives with shared memories of family and friends, and they share years of waking up to the extraordinary view that is part of their home. But the day has come when all of this is about to change, and the fragile relationship of two people is now in ever increasing jeopardy. Opening: Friday, September 30, 2011 Running: Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm and Sundays at 2 pm Closing performance: November 6, 2011 For Reservations call (310) 397-3244 or more

MY FAVORITE PLACE IN LA TO TAKE CLASSES 5/18/2011

I'd searched plenty of places in Los Angeles to take classes. Audited a few, took classes at others. It's a real group of actors here that love to act. It's the kind of place that reminded me why I began acting in the first place. The teachers are respectful, smart, and know what each student needs individually. And they challenge you in a way that's both respectful and growth oriented. They certainly don't hold your hand, but they don't batter you either. If you like to work and explore, this place offers you that in the class and within the attached theater company. It's a great place. Also, they're very profession oriented. They want to see you working so they'll do everything they can to help. At the very least go watch a master class and see for yourself. I've learned some great things from just sitting in on those classes.. more

Learned so much by auditing Scene Study w/ Masters Teachers 3/18/2011

I have to admit I was sooo skeptical when I first went to the Ruskin Group Theatre to watch a ""Scence Study Class with Master Teachers"" at The Ruskin School of Acting. Dylan McDermott was teaching that Saturday. I was amazed by his specific instruction and by all the actors that were performing their different scences that day. I thought to myself - wow I can do that. Soon I'll be starting the 2 year Intro to Meisner program. And I am so excited. Especially knowing that I can get to that Master Level of Acting. I'll keep you guys posted. Kelli M. more

Great Acting School - the best in Los Angeles 3/17/2011

This is the a great acting school. The Intro to Meisner Technique, and the Scene Study Classes with Master Teachers surpasses any (workshops) I've attended. If you want to learn acting - really learn acting - this is the real deal. Graduating from the 2 year Meisner program and now I am studying with master teachers like Dylan McDermott and Ed Asner and Director Dan Attias (when my schedule permits). Who would have thought? It's all good. more
