my bf and I had stopped by the Mill on casual evenings for bar fare (burgers, nachos and such) and noticed they had some higher end food available as well. The bar food is great.. and the beer is good but leave it at that. It has 'tavern' in the name, and should be treated as such. The decor is quaint.. the location is great, parking is spacious, all good things. I worry their food may be going WAY downhill though. \r
We went on a date friday evening and decided to try out the restaurant end of the Mill. He ordered Prime Rib Med-well, and I had the mixed grill with my steak med-rare. \r
One temperature off, I won't say anything, but mine was med- well, and his was totally RARE.. I mean.. side to side not just the middle. It was COLD too! not lukewarm, but really COLD. \r
I had mashed potatoes as my side.. that were SO dry dry dry. They seriously were like someone took an old baked potato, scraped the contents into a dish and called them mashed. My bf and I were laughing at how each time I'd pierce the mess with my fork, it would crumble into tiny pieces. \r
I kept trying to get our servers attention, but she'd fly past us and say 'everything ok?' as she was walking away. ???? \r
I noticed she did have three tables and was a one task at a time type of server, so I see why she was busy.\r
Anyway.. 20 minutes later I was able to flag her down, and I privately told her of the situation. THIS is where I get annoyed. Her response was.. 'soooo, what do you want me to do? Do you want me to have the kitchen cook it some more?' Uhm, yes - that would be great.\r
So.. about 20 more minutes goes by, and she comes back with my bf's Prime Rib browned on both sides and med-well. Alright. So.. we're done, we don't really eat any of it (literally two bites), and ask her if we can just get it wrapped up. She came by with the boxes and our FULL check and says 'Sorry about your dinners!""\r
Are you joking? It was nowhere near $70 good. I likely won't be back.
