For Starters, Rudy's is okay. The food I have had was okay. There is a bar area where many eat everything from Bar Pies to Appetizers to Seafood...Rudy's is known in the area for seafood. The downside? It has a restaurant dining area also, that I believe is smaller than my living room, and I do not recall any windows in that room. So if you are claustrophobic, eat in the bar area or order takeout. Trust me on this (unless they expanded it!)Also, for some reason, I always feel this place is frequented by sailors and fishermen..or at least the bar anyway. It has that type of feel (at lleast at the bar area.)
The meals? Fair. The Fra Diavalo pasta is plenty but spicy, and that was just the medium spiced sauce. Appetizers are good. You can get your share or mussels, clams, and such. The Italian food is okay to good and you may be suprised at some of the entrees. Overall, it is not something to jump up and down about.
Your best bet of when to go? If you are hanging out with your buddies, Hang out at the bar and enjoy the food, bar pies and all. (The bar pies actually are tasty.) Or you can chug a few brewskies over a bowl of mussels.
